The SmartMy Construction app, also offline
One app for Android and iPhone for the people on site. It has today's site report with photos, the muster roll and check-in, snags and inspections. It also has material requests and issues, measurements, plant log sheets and safety. What is entered without signal is kept on the phone and sent when the signal is back. Clients, subcontractors and buyers use the same app for their own pages.

Built and checked on a computer with automated tests against a stand-in server. Not yet tried on a real phone against a live server, and not in the app stores yet. Phone notifications need our Firebase project set up first.
The problem it solves
- Site engineers write the day on paper and type it in at night, or not at all.
- There is no signal on the third basement or a highway site, so the app is useless where the work is.
- Attendance is marked from memory at the end of the week.
- Snags and measurements are photographed on personal phones and lost in chat groups.
How it works
- Sign in with your server address and your login and password, or a passkey. Choose the project at the top.
- Today opens first: weather, work done with place and % complete, labour, material received and used, plant, issues with photos, and plans for tomorrow. Yesterday's Crew copies yesterday's labour.
- Press Submit the Report. It is locked, and the company and client updates are made from it.
- Through the Menu: the muster roll and check-in, snags and inspections, material requests and issues, the measurement book, plant log sheets and safety reports.
- With no signal, keep working. Entries wait on the phone with the time they really happened. They go in order when the server answers, when you return to the app, or with Send Now.
- Managers approve client updates and other requests waiting for them, and see plan estimates and enquiries.
Everything it does
Site
- Today: the daily site report with work done, labour by trade, material received and used, plant, issues and delays with a photo. Also photos with caption and place, and text for work done, tomorrow's plan, visitors and inspections
- Daily Site Reports: past reports
- Status Updates: client updates to approve and send, or hold back (managers)
- Muster Roll: Present, Half Day, Absent or On Leave for each worker. Check in and out with hours and overtime worked out. The phone's position goes with a check-in, and a worker away from the site shows Off site with the distance. Add Worker
- Face Check-in (with face attendance): a tablet as the gate kiosk, consent at the gate, enrolling faces. iOS 15.5 or later; faces wiped from the tablet at sign-out
- Quality: raise a snag with a photo, Fixed with the photo after, Close and Reopen. Start an inspection from a checklist, pass, fail or N/A, measure and photograph each point
- Safety: report an incident or near miss, a safety observation, a toolbox talk
- Material Requests with Urgent and Send for Approval; Material Issues from the site store
- Measurement Book: a work order's items with length, breadth and depth or quantity and a photo, for the engineer to certify
- Log Sheets: plant reading, hours and fuel issued

- Enquiries and site visits
- Plan Estimates (with plan estimates): a new estimate, photos of the plan, Read with AI, a package, floors. Then Work Out Quantities, the estimate and margin, Send as PDF
- Approvals: material requests, wage runs, bills, permits and every other request waiting for you
- Web Portal: opens the web portal
Working without signal
- Screens show the last answers they got
- Kept on the phone: the site report, muster roll, check in and out, new workers, snags, inspection answers. Also material requests and issues, measurements, safety reports and plant log sheets, with their photos
- Waiting entries show on Today, Labour and Quality; Send Now sends them at once
- A day's report can be started offline
- An entry the server refuses, for example a report already submitted, is dropped and listed for you
- A queue left on the phone by another user is not sent
Clients, subcontractors and buyers
- Projects: site updates, variations with Agree and Refuse, and bills
- Work Orders: order, billed and retention held; items measured and billed; certified measurements; bills
- My Home: price, paid, still to pay and overdue, the loan, the sale agreement, receipts and specification as PDFs to share or print

Who uses it

Can we download it from the Play Store today?
Not yet. The app is built and tested on computers against a stand-in server. It goes to the stores after a run on real phones, and we will set it up with you before you rely on it.What happens if the phone has no signal for a whole day?
