Children going out, with parent approval and exit passes
A child who is not allowed out alone waits at the gate until a parent says yes on the phone. Parents can make an exit pass in advance, alone or with someone, with a time to be back and a call first. The flat is told when the child goes out, comes back or is late.
PLANSFrom Growth
The problem it solves
- Your eight-year-old walks out of the gate to the shop, and the guard does not know whether that is allowed.
- The guard calls the flat from the cabin while the child waits, and nobody picks up the landline.
- Your child should be back from cricket by 7, and you only find out at 8 that they are not.
- A new guard does not know which children may go out alone and which may not.
How it works
- The office or the parent registers each child on the flat with a photo and a date of birth. May Go Out Alone is ticked only for those allowed.
- A child at the gate wants to leave. The guard opens Going out, taps the child and types where they are going.
- For a child who may not go out alone, the guard presses Send to the parents. The parents get "(name) wants to go out" and press Allow or Don't allow.
- When a parent allows it, the guard presses Let Out. For a child who may go out alone, the guard presses Log going out.
- A parent can make a kids' exit pass in advance. It holds the child, Alone or With someone, Where to, Leaves after, Back by, and Guard calls me first.
- The guard presses Came Back on return. The flat is told when the child goes out and comes back, and if they are not back by the time set.
Everything it does
Children on the flat
- Name, Photo, Birth Date (the age shows on the cards) and May Go Out Alone
- May Go Out Alone is a switch per child, set by the family; there is no automatic age rule
- Only the flat's primary contact or the owner adds children and changes the rule; the office can too
- Children have no login; the guard knows them by name and photo
- The child's record lists past exits under Going Out
At the gate
- Going out: search the child or the flat, say where they are going, then Send to the parents or Log going out
- Asking Parents: the children waiting for a parent, with Do not let the child out until a parent approves
- Children: every registered child with filters All, Out now and Inside; out since, back by, and late
- A pass a parent made shows under Going Out; with Guard calls me first the card says Call the parent first
- The back office has a Going out button on the child, with Back By two hours ahead to start with
Kids' exit pass by a parent
- Made by a resident who approves visitors; it needs no further approval
- Alone or With someone: pick from the flat's people and companions named before, or type a name
- Where to (needed), Leaves after and Back by, today; the form starts at now and two hours later
- Guard calls me first: on to start with
- Right now shows each child Inside the society or Out; Exit passes lists the last 7 days with who made each
- Back home marks a child returned who came in without passing the guard
Statuses
- Asking a parent, Ready, Out now, Returned, Not allowed, Cancelled
- A refused request is cancelled
- Late returns are checked every 15 minutes and flagged on the pass
