Menu polls, meal ratings and complaints
Members vote on a coming menu, and the winning option goes on the daily menu by itself. After a meal they rate it with stars and a comment. With SmartMy Desk, a low rating with a comment opens a ticket for the outlet.
PLANSFrom Growth
The problem it solves
- The mess committee argues about Friday's menu, and the result never reaches the kitchen.
- Complaints about food arrive as remarks in the corridor, and nobody can say which dish or which day.
- A student writes a long complaint in the suggestion box, and no one follows it up.
- You change a dish because of one loud voice, without knowing what the rest thought.
How it works
- In Food Service > Planning > Menu Polls, click New. Give the outlet, the menu date, the session and when voting closes.
- Add at least two options, each with its items, such as Paneer Butter Masala thali or Chole Bhature. Choose whether only plan members may vote and when results are shown.
- Click Open Voting. Plan members of the outlet are told, and vote on the portal or in the app. They can change their vote until voting closes.
- When voting closes, or when you click Close and Put on the Menu, the option with most votes becomes that day's menu.
- After each meal served, the member rates it within three days: one to five stars and a comment. On the portal they also give a thumbs up or down per dish.
- With SmartMy Desk, a rating of 2 stars or fewer with a comment opens a ticket. It goes to the outlet's helpdesk team, with the dishes the member did not like.
Everything it does
Polls
- Name, Outlet, Menu Date, Session, Voting Closes
- Plan Members Only (on to start with): only customers with an active plan sold at the outlet on that date may vote
- Show Results: After voting (the default) or When voting closes
- At least two options, each with a name and its items
- One vote per person; a vote can be changed while voting is open
- Voting closes by itself at the time set; the poll states are Draft, Voting, Closed and On the Menu
- The winning option's items replace that day's menu, or make a new one, with a note on the menu saying it came from the poll
- On a tie, the option higher in the list wins
Ratings
- Only a meal the person was served can be rated, once, within three days
- One to five stars and a comment
- On the portal: Liked or Did not like for each dish of the session's menu; the app takes stars and a comment
- Meal Ratings lists each rating with its stars and comment; Dish Ratings lists each dish's verdicts
- Voting and rating each give points if you use points (1 each, to start with)
Complaints as tickets (with SmartMy Desk)
- Ticket for Ratings Up To (stars): 2 to start with; 0 means never
- Only a rating with a comment opens a ticket
- The ticket names the stars, the outlet, the session and the date, and lists the dishes the member did not like
- It goes to the outlet's Helpdesk Team, with the Issue Type for Food Complaints you choose
- The rating shows its Ticket, so you can see what was done
- From the ticket, an agent can ask for a refund or wallet credit; the outlet's managers or a Food Administrator decide it
Who sees what
- Members see vote counts only, never who voted for what
- Food staff (Cashier, Kitchen Manager, Food Administrator) see each rating with the person's name and comment
- Kitchen Managers and Food Administrators create and run polls
- With SmartMy Desk, the helpdesk team sees the tickets from low ratings, with the member's name and comment
