Who can buy, limits per order and per buyer, and attendee names
Sell to your own signed-in people only, or to the public as well. Each ticket type can be for anyone, staff, parents, students or alumni. It can have a smallest and largest order, a limit per buyer and a name on each ticket.
PLANSEvery plan
The problem it solves
- A members-only evening is shared on social media and strangers buy the tickets.
- One person buys forty tickets of a popular show and resells them.
- Staff passes end up with the public because anyone can choose that ticket type.
- At the door nobody knows who a ticket was meant for.
How it works
- On the event, choose Who May Buy: Only Our People (signed in) or The Public as Well.
- On each ticket type, choose Who May Buy it: Anyone, Staff, Parents, Students or Alumni, and Visible or By Code Only.
- Set Minimum per Order, Maximum per Order and Limit per Buyer.
- Set Attendee Names to Not Asked, Optional or Required. With Required, the buyer types one name per ticket.
- The order form offers each buyer only the types meant for them, and checks the limits again when the order is placed.
Everything it does
Who may buy the event
- The Public as Well (to start with): anyone, with name, mobile and email; no account is made
- Only Our People (signed in): visitors who are not signed in do not see the event in the list. Its page asks them to sign in
- Signed-in buyers see the events of their own Entity
Who may buy a ticket type
- Anyone (to start with)
- Staff: a signed-in member of your staff
- Parents, Students and Alumni: with SmartMy Campus, which knows who a signed-in buyer is; without it such a type is offered to nobody
- By Code Only: shown only on the event page opened with its code
Limits
- Minimum per Order: 1 to start with
- Maximum per Order: 10 to start with; 0 means no limit, and the form then offers up to 20
- Limit per Buyer: over all orders of one buyer, paid or being paid, less cancelled tickets; 0 means no limit
- With SmartMy Campus: Limit per Student of the Family, for example two parent passes per child
Attendee names
- Not Asked (to start with), Optional or Required
- Required: exactly one name per ticket before the order goes through
- The name shows on the ticket, on the tickets page and at the gate
How a buyer is known
- Signed in: their own account
- Not signed in: the contact with the same mobile number, else the same email; a new contact when there is none

Questions
Can a members-only event stay private?
Yes. With Only Our People (signed in), it is not listed for visitors and its page asks them to sign in.How do I stop one person buying all the tickets?
Set Maximum per Order and Limit per Buyer on the ticket type. The limit per buyer counts all of that buyer's orders, less cancelled tickets. Can parents get two passes per child?
Yes, with SmartMy Campus. Set Limit per Student of the Family to 2 on the parent ticket type; it counts the whole family's orders.Do the limits apply at the counter?
No. At the counter the seller sees who is there, so any ticket type can be sold. The capacity, sale dates and required names still apply. Are attendee names checked at the gate?
The gate screen shows the name with the ticket. Your staff can compare it with an ID if you ask them to.Related features
