Counter sales at the venue and the day's closing
Sell tickets at the venue or the school office, by cash, UPI or card, from the same count as the website. At the end of the day each seller declares what they took, any difference is explained, and a manager confirms.
PLANSFrom Growth
Why it matters
At the door, tickets are often sold for cash from a printed roll, and the count is settled the next morning. Nobody can say how many were sold, and short cash is noticed too late. In SmartMy Events the counter sells from the same count as the website and the app, so a session is never oversold. Each sale is posted with a receipt and its payment in the cash or UPI and card journal. At the end of the day the seller declares the cash and the system shows any difference. A difference must be explained, and an event manager confirms the closing.
The problem it solves
- Cash at the door is counted the next morning and never matches the tickets sold.
- The office sells the last seats that were already sold online.
- A volunteer leaves with the cash box, and nobody knows what was in it.
- Parents pay class teachers in cash, and the passes are written by hand.
How it works
- Name the counter sellers on the event's Gate and Counter tab. They need the Event Counter Seller role.
- The seller opens Sell at the Counter on the web or Counter in the app, chooses the event and session, and the tickets.
- Add names, seats, add-ons or a promo code if needed, the buyer's name and 10-digit mobile, and Paid by: Cash, UPI or Card.
- Take the money and click Take the Money and Issue the Tickets (Sell in the app). The tickets and receipt print, and the buyer is sent the link.
- At the end of the day the seller opens Close the day, declares the cash and explains any difference. An event manager confirms or reopens.
Everything it does
Selling
- By the counter sellers and organisers named on the event, and event managers
- Cash (to start with), UPI or Card; a reference is needed for UPI and card
- Numbered seats picked, or the best seats left together
- Add-ons and promo codes as online
- In the app, the same sale sent twice is made once, so Try again never sells twice
Rules at the counter
- Applied: the capacity, the sale dates and required names
- Not applied: limits per order and per buyer, who may buy, and codes of hidden types
- Terms are not asked
- On the SmartMy cloud, a sale of paid tickets is refused when the ticket balance cannot cover the fee
Money and accounts
- Each paid sale gets a receipt and its payment in the Counter Cash Journal or the Counter UPI / Card Journal
- An event At the Counter Only needs no payment provider
- Counter sellers cannot refund; a refund of a counter sale is paid back by hand and counts in that seller's day
Closing the day
- One closing per seller and day, in the Entity's time; it covers every event sold that day
- Received (system): sold less paid back at that counter, by cash, UPI and card
- Declared starts at 0 for cash and at the system figure for UPI and card
- A difference must be explained in the note before closing
- After Declare and Close the Day, that seller sells no more that day
- Event managers Confirm, or Reopen to let the seller correct it or sell again
Reports
- Counter Collections: what each seller took by day and by cash, UPI and card
