Parents, students, staff and alumni recognised as buyers
With SmartMy Campus, a signed-in buyer is known as a parent, a student, a member of staff or an alumnus. Each sees the ticket types meant for them, with limits per family such as two parent passes for each child.

Why it matters
A school selling annual day tickets online has no way to know whether the buyer is a parent of the school. Passes meant for parents go to anyone with the link, and one family buys twenty. SmartMy Events reads your Campus records: a signed-in parent, student, staff member or alumnus sees the ticket types meant for them. A limit per student of the family caps passes across the father's, mother's, guardian's and student's orders. You sell to your own community without lists or codes.
The problem it solves
- Parent passes for the annual day are shared on WhatsApp and bought by outsiders.
- One family buys passes for every relative while others find the hall full.
- The office checks each order against the student register by hand.
- Alumni night tickets need a separate list of former students.
How it works
- On a ticket type, choose Who May Buy it: Anyone, Parents, Students, Staff or Alumni.
- For a family limit, fill in Limit per Student of the Family, for example 2. Then a family with two children in the school may have 4.
- Parents, students and staff sign in to the event pages or the SmartMy Events app. The system looks them up in your Campus records.
- Each sees only the ticket types meant for them, and the order form offers no more than the family has left.
- An order over the family's limit is refused with the number allowed, counting every order of the parents, the guardian and the student.
Everything it does
Who is recognised as what
- Parent: the father, mother or guardian of a student of the Entity, by their login or their contact
- Student: a current student of the Entity with their own login
- Alumni: a former student whose record is in an alumni batch or marked graduate, also once archived; needs the alumni part of SmartMy Campus
- A student who has left counts as an alumnus, no longer as a student
- Staff: an employee with a login, or a back-office login that is not a parent, student or alumnus
- Without SmartMy Campus, Parents, Students and Alumni types are offered to nobody; Staff means any signed-in staff login
The family limit
- Limit per Student of the Family: 0 (no limit) to start with, per ticket type
- Counted over the orders of the father, the mother, the guardian and the student
- Multiplied by the number of the family's students in the Entity
- Buyers who are not a family of the Entity are not held by it; the Limit per Buyer still applies
- Not applied when the office issues tickets for a contact, such as participant passes
Together with
- Who May Buy on the event: Only Our People (signed in) hides the event from visitors who are not signed in
- Visible or By Code Only per ticket type
- Limits per order and per buyer, and the capacity
- At the counter, who may buy and the per-buyer limits are not applied: staff sell to whoever is in front of them

Questions
Can an outsider buy a parent pass?
No. A Parents ticket type is offered only to a signed-in father, mother or guardian of a student of your Entity. How does two passes per child work for a family with two children?
Set Limit per Student of the Family to 2. The family may have 4, over the orders of both parents, the guardian and the students. Can the public still buy?
Yes. Add a ticket type for Anyone and keep the event open to the public. Each buyer sees the types meant for them.Do alumni need a login?
Yes. The system recognises a former student by the login on their own student record, kept in an alumni batch or marked graduate.Does this work without SmartMy Campus?
Only Staff and Anyone do. Parents, Students and Alumni need SmartMy Campus on the same system.Related features
