Early-bird prices by date
Give a ticket type a lower price until a date, or several steps of prices. The page tells buyers how long the price holds. Every order keeps the price of the moment it was made.
PLANSFrom Growth
The problem it solves
- Early-bird offers are changed by hand at midnight, and someone forgets.
- Buyers who paid the early price are charged the full price on the counter receipt.
- Nobody can tell later which price an order was sold at.
How it works
- Open a ticket type and, under Early Prices, add a line with Until and the Price.
- Add more lines for more steps, for example one price until 1 December and another until 15 December.
- Until each date, its price applies. After the last one, the ticket type's own price applies.
- The event page shows This price until a date, then the next price.
- Online, at the counter and in the app, the order takes the price that holds at that moment and keeps it.
Everything it does
Early prices
- Any number of steps per ticket type, each with Until and Price
- The first step whose date is not over applies; then the ticket type's own price
- Two steps of one ticket type cannot end at the same moment; a price cannot be negative
- The price follows the ticket type's tax: with or without tax included, as the tax says
What buyers see
- This price until a date, then the next price, on the event page and in the app
- The order form and the total use the price of now
- An order keeps its price; a later change or date does not alter it
With the other features
- The sale window (Sale Opens, Sale Closes) still decides when the type is on sale at all
- A promo code comes off the early price
- On the SmartMy cloud, Buyer Pays, SmartMy's Fee and You Get show beside each early price
- Copying an event (Scale) moves the early-price dates by as many days as the event
Who uses it

- The SmartMy Events app: the price now and until when (built and in testing, not in the app stores yet)
- Not on Starter: the Early Prices part is hidden
What you control
