Promo codes
Hand out codes such as EARLY10 or STAFF200 for a percentage or an amount off. Each code can have dates, a number of uses, a limit per buyer and its ticket types. You see what each code gave.
PLANSFrom Growth
The problem it solves
- A discount is given by hand at the counter and never shows in the accounts.
- One discount code is shared on social media and used a thousand times.
- Nobody can say which campaign or partner brought the buyers.
How it works
- Open the event's Promo Codes tab and add a line with the Code. Capitals, small letters and spaces do not matter.
- Choose Percent off with the percent, or Amount off with the amount, off Each Ticket or off The Order.
- Optionally set Valid from, Valid until, Orders at most, Orders per Buyer and the ticket types it is limited to.
- The buyer types the code on the order form and clicks Apply; the seller types it at the counter. If it does not apply, the reason shows.
- The discount is a line of its own on the order, the receipt and the accounts. Used and Discount Given show what the code did.
Everything it does
A code
- Code: kept without spaces, in capitals; one code once per event
- Discount: Percent off (0 to 100) or Amount off
- Amount off Each Ticket (to start with) or The Order, spread over its tickets; never more than their price
- Valid from and Valid until; Orders, at most; Orders per Buyer; 0 means no limit
- Only for Ticket Types: empty means every ticket type with a price
When it is refused
- Not valid for this event, not valid yet, or over
- Not for these tickets
- Used up, or already used by this buyer
Money
- The discount comes off the ticket price; the tax is charged on what is left
- Nothing comes off add-ons
- A booking fee is worked out on the price after the discount
- A code counts as used by orders that are paid or still held for their buyer
Reports
- Used and Discount Given on each code
- Promo Codes Used report: sales by code with the discount given
- The Buyer List shows the code of each order
