Student placement profiles, verified and approved
Each student keeps a placement profile with skills, projects and resumes on the portal or in the Campus app. Marks, CGPA and backlogs come from the published results and cannot be typed. The placement cell or the department's coordinator verifies the profile, and more approvers can follow. Nothing is shared with a company until the student gives consent.
PLANSEvery plan
The problem it solves
- Students type a higher CGPA into the placement form, and the company finds out after the offer.
- Profiles sit in a shared spreadsheet that anyone can edit, with no record of who checked them.
- A student's phone number reaches every company that visits, with no consent asked.
- Parents ask the office where their ward stands in placements, and the office has to look it up.
How it works
- The student opens Placements on the portal or in the Campus app. Register number, programme, CGPA, backlogs and SGPA by semester are already there.
- The student adds skills, preferred roles, 10th and 12th marks, links, projects and experience, and uploads resumes or builds one from the profile.
- Send for verification tells the department's coordinators, or the cell when there are none.
- The coordinator or a cell member clicks Verify, or Send Back to the Student with a note. With more levels, the next approvers decide in turn.
- The student gives consent. Only then is the profile shared with companies. Parents follow drives and offers, view only.
Everything it does
What the profile holds
- Academic Record: register number, programme, department, batch, CGPA, Active Backlogs and SGPA by Semester, from the published results
- Headline, about, Looking For (full-time, internship or both), skills, languages, preferred roles and locations
- 10th and 12th / diploma marks, checked by the verifier; GitHub, LinkedIn and portfolio links
- Projects and Experience: project, internship, certification or achievement
- Resumes: PDF or Word up to 5 MB, several versions with one Main Resume, or built as a PDF from the profile
Verification
- Status: Not Sent, Waiting for Verification, Verified or Changes to Verify
- Verify everything, one changed entry or resume, or the changed details only
- A changed verified profile waits only for the changed part; the verified parts stay shared
- Send Back to the Student needs a note; the profile is not shared until verified again
- Filters: To Verify, Verified, No Consent and Opted Out
Consent and opt-out
- Consent to Share is given by the student on the portal or in the app, never by the cell
- Consent History: every time consent was given or withdrawn, by whom and from where
- Can Be Shared with Companies: ticked when the profile is verified and consent is given
- Placement: Not Placed, Offer in Hand, Placed or Opted Out
- Opting out (higher studies, entrepreneurship, family business or another reason) needs the season's declaration; open registrations are withdrawn
- Let Back into Placements (cell members) undoes an opt-out
Students and parents on the portal and the app
- Pages: the overview, My profile, Drives, My applications, Notices and Offers
- Drives with eligibility, and every reason for those the student cannot join
- Register with a resume and answers to the company's questions; withdraw until registration closes
- Each round's slot and result, and an attendance code to show at each round
- Offers with the letter: Accept, or Decline with a reason
- Parents see the same pages but cannot act
The staff view of the Campus app
- Profiles to verify: verify the details, each entry and each resume, or everything, and send back with a note
Who uses it
StudentKeeps the profile and resumes, sends it for verification, gives consent and follows drives and offers.
Faculty coordinatorVerifies the profiles of the departments they coordinate, on the web or in the app.
Placement cell memberVerifies any profile, builds resumes, lets an opted-out student back in.
ParentSees where their ward stands: drives, rounds and offers, without acting.
Where you use it
- Web: Placement > Students > Profiles, opening on To Verify
- Portal: Placements for each student (My profile, Drives, My applications, Notices, Offers)
- The Campus app: Placements for students, and Profiles to verify in the staff view (built and in testing, not in the app stores yet)
- Web: Placement > Configuration > Approval Chains, the Placement profile chain
What you control
Settings
- Placements section on the portal and app: on to start with, per college
- Consent Wording, Students May Opt Out (on) and the Opt-Out Declaration: on the season
- Faculty coordinators: per department, under Placements
- Placement profile chain: one level, the cell and the department's coordinators, until you add more
Approvals
- Placement profile: the placement cell and the faculty coordinator of the student's department; Verify is the decision of the first level. Add levels, such as the placement officer, and the profile is Verified after the last one. Send Back at any level makes it Not Sent. The student never decides their own profile
Notifications
- Placement Profile to Verify: to the department's coordinators, or the cell when there are none
- Placement Profile Verified and Placement Profile Sent Back: to the student
- Request Waits for Your Approval: to the approvers of a later level of the chain
- By app notification, email and in the app inbox, sent at once; a person can switch off a channel, not the event
Questions
Can a student change their CGPA on the profile?
No. CGPA, backlogs and SGPA by semester come from the published results. If one is wrong, the exam cell corrects the result and the profile follows. What happens when a student edits a verified profile?
It becomes Changes to Verify. Only the changed part waits for the verifier, and companies keep seeing the verified parts. Can the placement officer approve profiles after the coordinator?
Yes. Add a level with the placement officer to the Placement profile chain. The coordinator's Verify is then the first level, and the profile is verified after the officer approves. Is a profile shared without the student's consent?
No. A student without consent can still register, but is left off the list the company sees. Every consent given or withdrawn is kept with who and from where. Can parents accept an offer for their ward?
No. Parents see the placement pages, view only. Only the student keeps the profile, registers and answers offers.Related features
PLACEMENTPlacement season, drives and offersWrite the season's placement policy once, and every drive applies it. Students see the drives they may register for, and the exact reason for the others. The company gets its candidates by a link, rounds run with scanned attendance, and offers follow your one-student-one-job rules.PLACEMENTPlacement reports for NAAC, NBA and NIRFSee the season in numbers, the students not placed and why, and each company and drive. The placement tables NAAC, NBA and NIRF ask for are built from the drives and offers you recorded. Download them in Excel or PDF, and publish the season's totals on a public page with no student named.APPS AND PORTALCampus app and web portal for students and parentsStudents sign in to the Campus app or the web portal and act for themselves: attendance, timetable, assignments, results, electives, leave, certificates, placements and fees. Parents get their own login and see the same pages, view only unless you decide otherwise.ACROSS SMARTMY COLLEGEApproval chainsLeave, assignments, circulars, elective registrations, credit transfers, certificates, revaluations, fees, placement profiles and job notification forms go to the right people in the right order. You set the chains up without code. On publishing, each student gets SGPA, CGPA, credits earned and arrears. The semester mark sheet, a Statement of Grades, prints for the whole batch or one student.
