Campus app and web portal for students and parents
Students sign in to the Campus app or the web portal and act for themselves: attendance, timetable, assignments, results, electives, leave, certificates, placements and fees. Parents get their own login and see the same pages, view only unless you decide otherwise.

The portal is built. The Campus app is built and tested on our test systems. It is not yet in the Play Store or the App Store, and not yet used by a college.
The problem it solves
- Students queue at the office window to ask their attendance percentage, their dues or whether their bonafide certificate is ready.
- Elective choices, leave letters and certificate requests come in on paper and get lost between desks.
- Parents of a first-year student hear about a shortage of attendance only when the hall ticket is held back.
- Every notice has to go out on several WhatsApp groups because there is no one place students look.
How it works
- The office gives each student a login, and parents their own login linked to the student. They sign in with email or mobile number and password, on the web portal or in the Campus app.
- The app opens on Home: what needs attention (dues, low attendance, work returned), today's lectures, the latest notices, and figures for attendance, work and fees.
- The Menu holds the rest, grouped as Learning, Examinations, School, Fees and services, and More. Only the pages your college uses are shown.
- Students act from there: hand in assignments, choose electives, apply for leave, request a certificate, register for placement drives and pay fees online.
- Parents see the same pages. For colleges they view only to start with: forms are hidden and the page says the student handles requests. Paying fees still works.
- Alerts show in the app's inbox. Phone push is built in and not switched on yet; a tap will open the right page.

Sign-in
- Email or mobile number and password, the same login on the portal and in the app; Keep me signed in; Forgot password
- Sign in with your college's single sign-on, where you have it
- A student sees only their own pages; a parent's login shows every child linked to them, also in other institutions of the same account
- A faculty member who is also a parent switches between their children and the faculty view
Learning
- Subjects (portal): this term's core and chosen subjects with code, faculty member and credits
- Attendance: percentage present, periods attended, absent and late; by subject; each absence with the remark; a red line below your college's minimum
- Timetable: the week with elective periods included, the coming holidays, and periods replaced by an exam in the next two weeks
- Homework: assignments, projects and study material; hand in with an answer, photos or files of up to 20 MB each
- Electives and credits, where you use choice based credits: rank choices in an open window, follow the allotment, see credits earned
- Activities and add-on courses; Contact classes for distance and online programmes; Online courses where you also have SmartMy Learn
Examinations
- Exam Schedule (portal): each paper's date, time and room
- Results: hall tickets, published results and mark sheets, and a revaluation request where you allow it
- Arrears (portal): subjects still to clear and the arrear exams set for them
College requests
- Circulars and notices with their files; Important on high-priority circulars
- Leave: apply (full or half day) and follow the answer; dates cannot be in the past
- Certificates: request one and download the issued PDF
- Meet the college: ask to meet the principal or a faculty member
- Conduct: cases and appeals
- Chat with the faculty your college allows (in the app)
Placements
- Profile and resume, consent, the drives the student is eligible for and why not for the others
- Register for a drive, follow the rounds, answer an offer, or opt out of placements
- Parents see where their ward stands
Fees and services
- Fees: dues with Pay online, receipts, the payment plan and trips, where you collect fees in SmartMy College
- Library: books borrowed and due
- Transport and Visitors, where you use them
Account
- Notifications: the inbox, and settings for which channels reach you and which informational messages you get
- My profile and Password and security on the portal
- Theme: like the phone, light or dark, and a colour; on the portal also boxed or full width
Who uses it
StudentSigns in and acts for themselves: assignments, electives, leave, certificates, placements and fees.

- Web: the student portal in any browser, on a computer or a phone, at your college's address

- Not in the app: the hostel and the mess, which have their own SmartMy apps
- Not on the portal: chat with faculty, which is in the Campus app

- Phone notifications reach the app once your push set-up is in place; a tap opens the page it is about
- Fee, result and absence alerts and other important ones are always sent, on the channels the person allows

Questions
Is the app in the Play Store?
Not yet. The Campus app is built and in testing. Until it is published, students and parents use the same pages on the portal in any phone browser.Can parents apply for leave or choose electives for the student?
Not to start with. Colleges start with Parent Access set to View only, so the student acts and parents see. You can change it to View and act, or No access.Can parents pay fees with view-only access?
Yes. Paying fees online works with view-only access too.Can a student see why they are not eligible for a placement drive?
