Results and report cards
Publish each exam's results with a mark sheet. Then combine the year's exams into the annual report card with weightages, co-scholastic grades, remarks and the promotion decision. Families see them on the portal and in the Campus app.
PLANSFrom Growth
The problem it solves
- Report cards are filled in by hand or in a spreadsheet, and a wrong formula changes a child's grade.
- Term 1, Term 2 and the annual exam are weighted differently by each class teacher.
- Who is promoted, who gets a compartment and who is detained is decided late and without a clear rule.
- Parents queue on result day for a printed card, and a lost card means a visit to the office.
How it works
- When every paper of an exam is submitted, the exam in-charge presses Publish Results. Papers are locked, ranks are given within each section, and families see the result.
- Print Mark Sheets prints the whole class; a student's mark sheet can be printed alone. Withhold Result keeps one student's result back.
- At the end of the year, open Annual Results, choose the class and sections, and press Load Published Exams. The exams of the term come in with their exam type's weightage, which you can change.
- Press Compute. Each student gets a weighted % per subject, an overall %, a grade and the subjects failed. They also get attendance %, a rank and Promoted, Compartment / Supplementary or Detained.
- Class teachers and the principal add remarks. The exam cell can change a promotion decision, and it stays when the results are computed again.
- Press Publish, then Print Report Cards. Families are told the annual result is out and download the report card from the portal.
Everything it does
Exam results and mark sheets
- Publish Results is refused while a paper is still open, and names the paper
- Each result: total, percentage, grade, rank and Pass, Fail, Not Eligible (Attendance), Absent or Withheld
- Mark sheet per student: subject, maximum, internal, practical, external, attendance marks and grace where used, total, grade, result and remarks
- Subjects examined in parts show each part under the subject
- Withhold Result per student; Unpublish (Group Administrator) opens mark entry again; Close ends the exam
Annual result
- The exams that count, each with its Weightage (%) and a Report Card Column heading such as "Term 1"
- Subject % = the weighted average of the exams the student has a mark in (absent counts as 0 %, exempted is left out)
- Overall % = the average of the marked subjects; grade-only subjects take the grade of the last exam
- Rank within the class section, students who passed every subject first
- Promotion: Detained below Minimum Overall (%) (33 % to start with). Promoted when every subject is passed. Compartment / Supplementary for up to Max Subjects for Compartment failed (2 to start with); Detained above that
- Class Teacher Remarks and Principal Remarks per student; only the exam cell or principal changes the promotion, which is then marked as a manual decision
- A detained student is not moved up at promotion; Reset (Group Administrator) takes a published annual result back
The report card
- Student, class, attendance %, overall %, grade, rank and result
- A row per subject with a column per exam, the final grade and teacher remarks
- Co-scholastic grades from the exam you choose (the last exam unless you change Co-Scholastic Grades From)
- Signature places for the class teacher, the principal and the parent or guardian
- Printed for the class at once or for one student
Co-scholastic grades
- Areas graded without marks: Work Education, Art Education, Health & Physical Education and Discipline come ready. They use a 3-point scale (A Outstanding, B Very Good, C Fair); add your own areas and scales
- Chosen per exam on its Rules tab; each student gets a line per area
- Class teachers grade their own sections under Co-Scholastic Grades, with remarks; the filter Not Graded shows what is left
- Grades can be changed while the exam is scheduled or in mark entry
- Printed on the mark sheet and the annual report card, and shown on the portal's result page
- Last year's grades can be imported with the Co-Scholastic Grades sheet

Questions
Can we weight Term 1, Term 2 and the annual exam our way?
Yes. The annual result takes each published exam with its exam type's weightage, and you can change the weightage per exam before computing. Each exam gets its own column heading on the report card. How is promotion decided?
A student below the minimum overall % (33 % to start with) is detained. One who passed every subject is promoted. Up to two failed subjects means compartment; more means detained. The principal can change a decision, and it is kept on recompute. Can we hide one student's result?
Yes. Tick Withhold Result on that student's result. The family is not told, and the result reads Withheld.Do parents get the report card on the phone?
The Campus app shows each exam's result and its mark sheet PDF. The annual report card is downloaded from the parent portal, which opens on the phone's browser. The app is built and in testing, not in the app stores yet.Can the report card show ranks?
Yes. Ranks are worked out within each section and printed. There is no setting yet to leave the rank off the report card.Related features
