SmartMy POS app for phones and tills
The SmartMy POS app runs the whole shift on one device. Open the session, sell, take payments, refund, and print or share receipts. Move cash and close with a cash count. It keeps the register's products, prices and taxes on the device and keeps selling without signal. It runs on Android and iOS phones and tablets and on Windows, macOS and Linux tills.

Built and tested against our test server. The app has not yet run at a customer's counter on a real phone or till and is not in the app stores. Try it at one counter, with your printer, before you rely on it.
The problem it solves
- A small shop does not want to buy a till before it can bill.
- Billing stops when the internet does.
- A receipt printer is needed for a paper slip, even when the customer would take it on their phone.
How it works
- Sign in with your login and password or a passkey; the first time, type your organisation's server address. You need the Cashier role.
- Choose the register. The first time, the app downloads its catalogue: products, pictures, prices, taxes, payment methods, reasons and promotions.
- If the register is closed, type the Opening cash and tap Open session. On a shared counter, tap your name and type your PIN.
- Sell from the grid, the categories and Favourites, or search or scan in Search or scan a barcode. Tap Pay, split across methods, and tap Done.
- The receipt prints by itself on a network receipt printer. Or Share sends it as text through WhatsApp, SMS, mail or any app on the phone.
- Use the Menu for Orders (find a sale, reprint, share, refund) and Sessions (cash in and out, deposits, the printer, close). On a phone, use Reports > X report.
Everything it does
Screens
- The app frame of every SmartMy app, with a Menu and no bottom bar; Sell is the home screen
- Menu: Counter (Sell, Orders, Sessions) and Reports (X report, on a phone)
- Every screen first passes the register gate: register, catalogue, session and PIN
- Approvals: managers decide what waits for them, such as promotions, in the same app
Selling
- Line discount as % off or a new price, bill discount as % or amount off, each with a reason; on the house from Growth
- Approval by a supervisor's or manager's PIN on a shared counter, else by login and password
- Invoice switch, card terminal, gift card, deposit and points on the Pay screen, as the plan allows
- Low and Out badges on products (Growth); gift card value; promotions on the line (Scale)
- Refund chosen lines and quantities from Orders, with a reason and a supervisor
Receipts and printing
- Network ESC/POS printer: Address, Port (9100 for most), Paper 58 mm or 80 mm, Open the cash drawer, Print a test page
- A printer set on the till wins over the register's printer
- Without a printer, receipts are shared as text from the phone's share sheet; the PDF is in the back office
On a till computer
- The search box keeps the cursor, so a USB barcode scanner adds the product at once
- Keys: F2 search, F12 pay and finish, Esc back, Enter next customer, F5 sync now
Sync
- Sync now sends what waits and fetches the catalogue again: products, prices, price lists, taxes, promotions, methods, reasons, printers and settings
Who uses it
CashierRuns the session, sells, refunds with approval, records cash moves and closes.
SupervisorApproves on the cashier's device by PIN or login.
Where you use it
- The SmartMy POS app on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux (built and in testing, not in the app stores yet)
- The SmartMy Garage and SmartMy Facility apps: the same Sell, Orders and Session screens for staff who are cashiers
- Not built: Bluetooth or USB printers, camera barcode scanning, parked carts, a scale or a customer display
- Not in the app: lot or serial numbers and coupon codes; use the back office
- Not by itself: the app does not send receipts; Share uses the apps on the phone. App push is built in and not switched on yet
