Partitions, curtains and blinds in the designer

Draw glass, jaali, slat and bookshelf partitions with two taps, and dress every window and door with curtains, sheers, blinds or door shutters. Fabric metres, track metres, blind areas and partition areas are worked out and priced into the estimate.
PLANSScale only

The problem it solves

  • Curtain fabric is quoted per window from habit, and the pinch pleats need twice the width that was ordered.
  • The wallpaper repeat and roll width are known, but the curtain fabric's repeat is not counted.
  • A fluted glass partition by the living room door is a line in the quote the client cannot picture.
  • The tailor, the glass vendor and the carpenter each get their quantities from a different sheet.

How it works

  1. For a partition, pick Build > Partitions, choose a kind and a type, and tap where it starts and where it ends on the floor. An end near a wall snaps onto it.
  2. Drag the blue ends or the body to move it. On the right set Full height or a Height, the pattern, slat width and gap, panels, thickness, infill and frame.
  3. For curtains, pick Build > Curtains. The room's windows and doors are listed: tap one to pick curtains, sheers or a blind, or press Dress every window.
  4. Set the pleat, fullness, fabrics, lining, sheer, rod or track, where it hangs and falls, motorised and pelmet light. Drawn open shows them open or closed with their folds.
  5. The panel shows track metres, fabric metres, blind m² and the price; each becomes an estimate line under its trade.

Questions

How is curtain fabric counted?

From the track width times the fullness plus the side hems, divided into widths of the fabric's roll. Each drop is cut to whole pattern repeats. Lining and sheer are counted the same way, and stitching by the width.

Can a partition go at an angle?

Yes. Tap the start and end anywhere on the floor; the ends snap onto a wall when they are near one.

Can the client see the curtains closed?

Yes. Drawn open is a slider from closed to drawn back. The 3D page shows the curtains as you left them, by day or at night.

Are motorised curtains priced?

Yes. Motorised adds the motor to the price, and a pelmet light adds its strip.
