Supplementary exams and revaluation
Arrears from any earlier semester are written alongside the next semester exam, with an arrear fee per paper. Dates are planned so no student has two papers at once. Students ask for revaluation, retotalling or a copy of the answer script on the portal, with their fees.
PLANSFrom Growth
The problem it solves
- Arrear students from three different semesters need papers that never clash with their current semester exam.
- The exam cell keeps the arrear list in a register, and students ask the office what they still have to clear.
- Revaluation forms come on paper, the fee is collected separately, and nobody tracks which requests are done.
- The CGPA is not corrected after an arrear is cleared or a mark is revised.
How it works
- Examination > Exams > Results > Arrears lists every student's arrears: the latest attempt of each credit course that failed, from any semester.
- On the next semester exam of the batch, press Add Arrears. One arrear session is made with a paper for every course someone has an arrear in, internal and practical marks carried over.
- Press Plan Dates. Choose the days and sessions; papers are fitted so that no student has two papers at once, with the semester exam or another arrear.
- Schedule the session. Each student is charged the arrear fee per paper, and the hall ticket comes once it is paid. Marks are entered and published as usual; a pass replaces the failure in CGPA.
- After results are published, a student asks on the portal for a revaluation, retotalling or a copy of the answer script, before the deadline. The fee is raised at once.
- The exam cell names the revaluator and presses Start Review. Complete works out the total, grade, SGPA, CGPA and arrears again.
Everything it does
Arrears
- An arrear is the latest attempt of a credit course that was failed, absent or not written for want of the fee. A student barred for attendance is not counted
- Arrears register with the student, register number, course, credits, last attempt, total and attendance
- Add Arrears on a draft or scheduled semester exam: one open arrear session per exam; arrears already in another open session are left out
- Plan Dates: a window (the semester exam's dates to start with) and sessions a day. Sessions are the semester exam's own, or 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00. No Papers on Sundays is on. Papers most students write are placed first
- Papers that find no free slot are listed, with how many papers the busiest student writes against the slots in the window
- Students see Arrears on the portal: courses to clear with credits and the next attempt, or Not scheduled yet
Supplementary exam for one exam
- Create Supplementary Exam on a published exam: one paper per failed course, only the students who failed
- Internal, practical and attendance marks carried over; only the external is written again
- A course examined in parts keeps the parts already passed as carried over
- Scheduled, marked and published like any exam
Fees
- Arrear Fee (per paper) in the fee settings: every new arrear or supplementary exam starts with it
- Hall Ticket After Exam Fee applies to arrear papers too
- Revaluation Fee, Retotalling Fee and Answer Script Copy Fee, each per paper, on the exam's Fees tab
- A request waits until its fee is paid or waived; only the exam cell waives, with a reason
- Refund Fee if Marks Increase: the fee goes back to the student as credit when the mark goes up
Revaluation, retotalling and a copy
- Asked on the portal's result page by the student. Parents can ask only where the college gives them full access (view only to start with in a college)
- Or recorded by the exam cell under Examination > Exams > Results > Revaluations
- Only after results are published, for a paper with an external mark, before the Revaluation Deadline; one open request per paper
- Statuses: Draft, Submitted, Under Review, Completed, Rejected, Cancelled
- The request keeps the Original External, Revised External, Final External, Original Result and Final Result
- With blind valuation, the revaluator gets the script as a bundle of one and is never someone who marked it. The scheme says whether the revised mark replaces, the higher stands, or it changes only beyond a difference
- A copy of a scanned script is read or downloaded on the portal once the request is completed
Who uses it
Controller of examinations (exam cell)Follows the arrears register, adds arrear sessions, plans dates, works revaluation requests and waives fees.
FacultyRevalue a script when named, and enter marks of arrear papers.
Accounts officeCollects arrear and revaluation fees and refunds a fee as credit.
StudentsSee their arrears and next attempts, pay the fees, and ask for revaluation, retotalling or a copy on the portal.
Where you use it

- Student portal: Arrears, and the result page with the request form and the copy of the script
- Not in the Campus app: arrears and revaluation requests are on the portal; the app shows results

Questions
Can a first-semester arrear be written with the third-semester exam?
Yes. Add Arrears on the third-semester exam takes every pending arrear of the batch, whatever semester it is from. Plan Dates then fits the papers so no student has two at once.Do students rewrite the internal mark?
No. Internal, practical and attendance marks are carried over. Only the external paper is written again.Who asks for revaluation, the student or the parent?
In a college the student asks on the portal. Parents see results but cannot act unless you give them full access.Does the CGPA change after a revaluation?
Yes. Completing a request works out the total, grade, SGPA, CGPA and arrears again from the final mark.Does the fee come back if marks go up?
Only if you tick Refund Fee if Marks Increase. The fee then goes to the student's credit on the fee account.Related features
