Directions to each tower and flat, and where to park

The office writes once how to reach each tower, where to park, and the way inside the tower to each flat. Guests read it in their invitation and on the pass page. The kiosk shows it with a pin on the site map, and the guard sees it on the visitor's card.
PLANSEvery plan

The problem it solves

  • Guests ask the guard which tower is which, and the guard has to leave the gate to point.
  • Visitors park in residents' slots because nobody told them where visitor parking is.
  • A delivery person walks the length of the society looking for Tower C.
  • In a big complex, first-time guests call the flat from the car park, lost.

How it works

  1. The office opens Visitors > Configuration > Buildings and Parking > Towers / Blocks and, on each tower, fills in How to Get There and Where to Park.
  2. On a flat, the office adds Directions in the Tower, such as 12th floor, turn right out of the lift. Without it, the floor number is used.
  3. Optionally, the office uploads a Site Map picture on the Entity's Visitors tab. On each tower it ticks On the Site Map and types where the pin goes.
  4. A guest invited by a resident gets the directions and the parking in the invitation email and on the pass page.
  5. At the kiosk, a visitor who is let in sees How to get there, the parking and the site map with the tower's pin.
  6. On the guard's card, an approved visitor for a flat shows the directions, so the guard can tell them the way.

Everything it does

Per tower

  • How to Get There: free text, for example Second building on the left after the clubhouse. Lifts 1 and 2
  • Where to Park: one line, for example Visitor parking behind the tower
  • On the Site Map, Pin Across (%) and Pin Down (%): 0 is the left or top edge, 100 the right or bottom edge
  • The tower list has the filter Not on the site map

Per flat

  • Directions in the Tower: added after the tower's directions
  • Without it, the flat's floor is shown, such as Floor 12
  • A flat with no directions, no parking and no pin shows nothing

The site map

  • One picture per society, uploaded on the Entity's Visitors tab as Site Map; up to 1,920 pixels a side
  • The pin is typed in percent; it is not placed by clicking on the picture
  • Shown on the kiosk in a browser and in the Kiosk app, with a red pin on the tower

Where visitors and guards see it

  • Invitation email: How to get to the flat and Parking
  • Pass page: Flat, Parking and How to get there
  • Kiosk, after the visitor is let in: How to get there, Parking and the site map with the pin
  • Guard card: the directions text on an approved visitor for a flat
  • The pin is shown on the kiosk only, not in the email, on the pass page or on the guard card

Who uses it

Society officeWrites the directions and parking per tower and flat, and pins each tower on the site map.
GuestReads the way in the invitation or on the kiosk.
GuardReads the directions on the visitor's card and tells the visitor.

Where you use it

  • Web: Visitors > Configuration > Buildings and Parking > Towers / Blocks, the flat form, and the Entity's Visitors tab for the site map
  • Email and pass page: the guest's invitation
  • The kiosk in a browser or the Kiosk app
  • Web: the gate screen and the guard page; the Guard app (built and in testing, not in the app stores yet)
  • Not on a street map: the directions are your own words and your own site picture, not a map service

What you control

Settings

  • How to Get There and Where to Park: empty to start with, per tower
  • Directions in the Tower: empty, per flat
  • Site Map: none to start with; On the Site Map: off per tower

Notifications

  • No message of its own: the directions travel inside the invitation and the pass

Questions

Do we have to fill this in for every flat?

No. Fill in each tower once. A flat without its own line shows its floor number under the tower's directions.

Can we use a drawing of our layout?

Yes. Upload any picture of the society as the Site Map, then type the pin position of each tower in percent across and down.

Does the guest see the site map in the invitation?

No. The invitation and the pass page show the written directions and the parking. The site map with the pin shows on the kiosk.

What does the guard see?

For an approved visitor of a flat, the guard's card shows the directions, so the guard can tell the visitor which way to go.

Is this in every plan?

Yes. Directions per tower and flat and the site map are in every plan of SmartMy Society.
