Receipt copies marked duplicate
Every receipt printed again is a copy: counted, written on the sale with who printed it, and printed as DUPLICATE COPY with its number. A register can also ask for a reason and a supervisor.
PLANSEvery plan
The problem it solves
- A reprinted bill is used to claim a second refund or a second reimbursement.
- Nobody knows how many times a receipt was printed, or by whom.
- Asking a supervisor for every reprint makes the customer wait at a busy counter.
How it works
- The first print after the sale is the original. Any print after it is a copy.
- In the back office the cashier opens the sale and clicks Receipt. The box Print a Copy shows how many copies were printed before.
- Where the register asks for it, the cashier types the Reason, and a supervisor approves with their password or PIN.
- Print Copy prints the receipt with DUPLICATE COPY and its number: 1, 2, 3.
- The sale's history says "Receipt copy 2 printed by" the cashier, with the reason and who approved it.
- In the app: Orders, open the sale, Reprint. Without signal the copy is printed and recorded when the signal is back.
Everything it does
Always
- Copies Printed counted on the sale
- A note on the sale for each copy: number, who printed it, the reason, who approved
- DUPLICATE COPY and the number printed on the copy, on the web, the app and the back office
- Only a paid sale's receipt can be printed again
When the register asks
- Ask the Reason for Reprints: the cashier must say why
- Reprints Need a Supervisor: a supervisor approves, unless the cashier is one
- Both off to start with, so the customer does not wait
Records
- Counter Approvals lists approved copies with the kind Reprint
- From the back office, the Receipt button always prints a copy
