Captain, kitchen screen and kiosk apps
The same tablet code runs three more jobs. A captain takes table orders on SmartMy Feast Counter. The kitchen works its tickets on SmartMy Feast Kitchen. Customers order and pay by themselves on SmartMy Feast Kiosk.
PLANSFrom Growth
Built and in testing, not in the app stores yet; not yet run on a real tablet, card machine or kitchen screen.
The problem it solves
- Captains carry paper pads to the kitchen, and orders are lost or misread.
- The kitchen does not know which ticket is late until a table complains.
- At the evening snack rush one counter cannot take every order.
- The cashier stops billing to shout orders through the kitchen hatch.
How it works
- In the back office, add a device for each tablet under Food Service > Counters > Counters and Devices > Devices. Set its Mode: Captain (table orders), Kitchen Display, or Self-order Kiosk. Pair it with its code.
- Install the app made for that mode. Use SmartMy Feast Counter for a captain, SmartMy Feast Kitchen for a kitchen display, SmartMy Feast Kiosk for a kiosk. An app paired with a device of another mode says which app belongs there.
- The captain logs in with a PIN, opens a table, takes the order with seats, courses and notes, and taps Send to kitchen.
- The kitchen display shows the tickets of its station. The cook taps a tile to start it, again when ready, and again when served.
- At the kiosk, the customer scans the card or app QR, takes the plan meal or picks dishes. They pay from the wallet, on the card machine beside it, or at the counter with a printed slip.
Everything it does
Captain (in SmartMy Feast Counter)
- Tabs: Tables, Shift and Sync
- Floors and tables; a busy table shows its guests, bills and whether the order is in the kitchen or ready; My tables
- Per item: a note, the seat or Shared, the course, Hold; Fire sends a held course
- Cancel a sent item with a reason; after the kitchen started, a supervisor approves and it counts as waste
- Split by items, by seat, equally or by amount; move, merge, join tables, hand over to another captain
- Takeaway, pickup with a time, and in-campus delivery with Deliver to (block, room)
- Needs the network
Kitchen display (SmartMy Feast Kitchen)
- Tabs: Kitchen and Sync
- One station or All stations; one tile per ticket with its table or order type, age, items, notes, PARCEL and course
- Tiles change colour as they age; Late after (min) per station, 15 to start with
- Tap to start, Tap when ready, Tap when served; Recall brings back the last ticket finished, for a few minutes
- Cancelled items are struck through; a VOID ticket tells of items cancelled after sending
- Ready orders show as ready on the captain's tablet and on the menu display; the customer of a takeaway or pickup gets a message
- Works beside a kitchen printer or in its place; needs the network
Self-order kiosk (SmartMy Feast Kiosk)
- Tab: Order; nobody logs in
- Scan your card to order; Order without a card when the kiosk has Without a Card: Prices For (a customer type such as Visitor)
- My meal takes the plan or token meal of the session; dishes by category, sold out marked
- Ask Eat Here or Take Away: take away uses parcel prices and the packing charge
- Ways to pay, each switched on per kiosk. Wallet (scan the card), on by default. Card / UPI on the Payment Machine. Order Here, Pay at the Counter (needs table service or kitchen tickets)
- Never cash, never a discount; a bill nobody pays is cancelled after Unpaid Kiosk Bills Cleared after (minutes), 30 to start with
- Starts again after a minute without a touch
