Sell your products on your own website: a shop page, a page for each product, a cart and a checkout. Each order arrives as an ordinary sales order in your SmartMy records, with the payment, delivery and discount on it.

Why it matters
A small business that sells online often ends up with two systems: a hosted shop, and another for sales, stock and accounts. Orders are typed across, stock goes out of step, and every sale on the shop costs a cut. In SmartMy Website the shop runs on your own SmartMy records. A product on the site is the same product in Sales, with its price and tax. Each website order arrives as an ordinary sales order you deliver and invoice as usual.

- Your site shows products, but orders still come by phone and WhatsApp and someone types them in again.
- The online shop runs on one system and your sales, stock and invoices on another, so the two never agree.
- Prices and taxes on the site are typed by hand and drift away from your real price list.
- Every sale through a hosted shop costs a cut, on top of what the payment company takes.
How it works
- A Website Manager opens the editor, Shop tab, and turns on Shop on. The site now has /shop, product pages, the cart and checkout.
- Staff with Sales rights open a product and tick Sell Online in its Online Shop tab. Price, taxes, variants and pictures come from the product itself.
- Within five minutes the product is on the live site, or at once with Send to the site now.
- The Manager adds delivery methods, ways to pay and discount codes in the same Shop tab.
- A buyer fills the cart and checks out as a guest or a signed-in member. Prices, taxes and stock are checked again at that moment.
- The order arrives in Website > Shop > Orders > Orders as a quotation. It is confirmed when the payment company says the full amount was paid, or at once for cash on delivery.
- You deliver, invoice and track it like any other sales order, and the buyer follows it on their order page.

- A shop page with a banner, category tiles, featured products, search, filters and sorting
- A page for each product: pictures, options such as size and colour, price before, stock, delivery dates, details, reviews and questions
- A cart with discount codes and Saved for later, then a one-page checkout
- An order page for each order: steps, tracking link, Buy it again, a receipt to print and returns
- A Products from the shop section to place on any page: featured, newest, one category or on sale
Orders in your records
- Each order is a normal sales order with a Website tab: the site, the delivery method, the discount code
- Online Payment on the order: Not Paid, Waiting, Paid or Failed, with the way to pay and the payment reference
- Delivery, discount codes and gift wrap are lines of the order
- The buyer becomes a contact, found again by email on the next order
- Up to 60 cart lines and 999 of one item per order
Checks at checkout
- Prices and taxes come from SmartMy, never from the browser
- Stock is checked when your database has Inventory; out-of-stock items stop the order unless back-orders are allowed
- Smallest order, minimum amount of a code and the most a way to pay accepts are checked
- A payment is accepted only when the amount and currency match the order; a mismatch is noted on the order and not confirmed
Search engines and feeds
- Each product page carries product details for search engines: price, stock, SKU, brand and ratings
- A title and description for search engines per product
- A product feed at /feed/google.xml for Google Merchant Center and similar services

- Shop on: off until you turn it on
- When something is out of stock: Show it as sold out (the default), Hide it, or Keep selling (back-order)
- Say "Only a few left" below: 5
- Smallest order: none to start with
- Terms page: /terms (make that page yourself)
- Prices from (price list): the products' sale prices, or one of your price lists in its currency

- Website return request: return and replace requests from buyers go on this chain; see Returns and replacements
Notifications
- Website Order Paid: to the buyer by email, and to the people who follow the website by email, in-app and push
- Website Order Placed: an order paid by cash on delivery or UPI, to the people who follow the website, by email, in-app and push
- Unpaid Cart Reminder: to a buyer who left an online payment unfinished, once, two hours later, by email

Questions
Do website orders need to be typed into SmartMy?
No. Each checkout creates a sales order with the products, the delivery line and the discount. You deliver and invoice it as you do for any other order.Will the website show our real stock?
Yes, when your SmartMy database has Inventory, which SmartMy Trade, POS and some other products bring. The Website plans alone bring Sales, not Inventory, so then products show no stock count.Can buyers check out without an account?
Yes. Buying as a guest is always allowed. With members on, a signed-in buyer picks a saved address and sees past orders.Does SmartMy take a cut of our sales?
No. Payments go through your own payment account, or by UPI or cash on delivery straight to you.Has the shop been run with a real customer?
