Your site in more languages, translated by AI
Add Hindi, Tamil, Arabic, French or any of 28 languages. Each gets its own addresses and a switch in the header. AI translates a page for you to check, and Arabic and Urdu read right to left.
PLANSEvery plan
The problem it solves
- Half your patients read Kannada or Hindi more easily than English, and the site is only in English.
- A translator charges per page, and every change means another invoice.
- A second site for each language goes out of date the day you change your hours.
- Google shows the English page to people searching in Tamil.
How it works
- In the editor, open the Site tab > Languages > More languages and tick the languages you want.
- A language picker appears in the top bar of the editor. Pick a language; the main one is marked (main).
- Press Translate with AI and confirm. The open page, with the header and footer, is filled in that language.
- Read the words and change any you like by typing on the page, then do the next page.
- Publish. Visitors switch language in the header, and each language has its own addresses, such as /hi/contact.
Everything it does
Languages
- 28 to choose from: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu, Arabic, French, German and Spanish. Also Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indonesian, Malay, Thai, Vietnamese, Turkish, Russian, Swahili and English
- One main language per site (the Language field of the site), and as many more as you tick
- Arabic and Urdu pages read right to left
What is translated
- Each page's words, its name in the menu, and its Google title and description
- The header and footer, translated with the first page you translate in that language
- Pictures, layouts and the look are shared by every language; only the words differ
- Words not yet translated show in the main language
Translate with AI
- One page at a time, from the main language, through SmartMy's AI service
- Keeps names of people, the business and brands, numbers, prices and links as they are
- Words already written in that language on the page are replaced, so translate first and correct after
- Long pages go in several parts by themselves
For visitors and search engines
- A language switch in the header, with each language in its own script
- Addresses per language (/hi/..., /ar/...) and links that tell Google which page is which language
- Every language version is in the sitemap
Who uses it

Where you use it

Questions
Is the AI translation good enough to publish as it is?
Read it first. AI translation can be wrong, especially with local terms. Correct the words on the page before you publish. Can I write a language myself instead of using AI?
Yes. Pick the language in the top bar and type over the words on the page.Do I need a second website for each language?
No. One site holds every language, with shared pictures and design. Are blog posts and products translated?
Not today. Blog posts are written in one language, and shop products and collection items show in the main language. What if a page is not translated yet?
Its words show in the main language at that language's address until you translate them.Related features
