Search engine set-up done for you
Every page gets a title, a description, a share picture and the structured details Google reads. Empty ones are written from your own words. A sitemap, redirects and a Search and AI check come with it.
PLANSEvery plan
The problem it solves
- Pages go live with "Home" as their Google title and no description, so few people click.
- A link to your site shared on WhatsApp or Facebook shows no picture.
- Google does not know you are a dental clinic in Jayanagar with opening hours, so you miss local searches.
- You rename a page or leave an old website, and the links people saved stop working.
How it works
- Build your pages as usual. On publishing, each page gets a title, a description from its first lines, and its first picture as the share picture.
- Your sections become structured details. A Questions section becomes questions and answers, Steps a how-to, testimonials reviews, a price list a menu, an Events section events.
- The address, phone and hours from a Contact or Map section, or the footer, describe your business. Pick its kind, such as Dentist or Restaurant, in the Site tab under Search engines and AI.
- Open Page settings to write your own Title in Google and Description in Google. The Search and AI check below them shows what is missing and how the page may look in Google.
- Paste your Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster codes, add old addresses under Redirects, and publish.
Everything it does
Made for every page
- Title: your Title in Google, or the page name and the site name
- Description: your Description in Google, or the first heading and text of the page, cut at about 158 characters
- Share picture: the first picture of the page
- The page's own address (canonical), and links between language versions when the site has more languages
- Pages set to Only with the link, password or members only are marked not to be indexed and left out of the sitemap
Structured details (schema.org)
- Your business: Organization, or LocalBusiness when an address or hours are on the site, or one of 17 kinds you pick
- Phone, email, address, opening hours, logo, social media links, and a star rating from a testimonials section
- Website search when the search box is on; breadcrumbs on every page but the home page
- Questions and answers, how-to steps, reviews, menus with prices, videos and up to 12 events
- Blog posts, and on the shop (Growth) each product with its price, stock, rating and reviews
Files search engines read
- /sitemap.xml: public pages, each language version, collection items, shop categories and products, blog posts with their dates
- /robots.txt: lets search engines in, keeps form and password addresses out, and points to the sitemap
- /blog/feed.xml for the blog; /llms.txt and a text copy of each page for AI assistants
Search and AI check (Page settings)
- 11 points: title length, description, main title, at least 150 words, a Questions section, address and phone
- Your own photos, links to other pages, the kind of business, AI assistants allowed, the page open to search engines
- A preview of how the page may look in Google
Moving pages and old sites
- Redirects: one per line, old address | new address, such as /old-menu | /menu; up to 500 lines
- Visitors and search engines are sent on for good (a permanent redirect)
- Your own page-not-found title and text, with a search box and a button to the home page
Who uses it
Website EditorWrites the Google title and description of each page and works through the Search and AI check.
Website ManagerSets the kind of business, the Search Console and Bing codes and the redirects, and publishes.
Where you use it
- Web: the editor (Edit Site on Website > Websites): Page settings for each page. The Site tab has the kind of business, tracking tools, page not found and redirects
- The published site: /sitemap.xml, /robots.txt and /blog/feed.xml
- Not a keyword or ranking tool: use Google Search Console for searches and positions
- Not sent to Google by itself: add the sitemap address once in Google Search Console
What you control
Settings
- Title in Google and Description in Google: empty, so they are made from the page
- What kind of business: Worked out from the site
- AI assistants may read the site: Yes, so they can recommend us
- Google Search Console code and Bing Webmaster code: empty
- Redirects and page-not-found words: none, so the built-in page shows
Questions
Will my site be on the first page of Google?
Nobody can promise that. SmartMy Website gives Google clean titles, descriptions, a sitemap and structured details. Your words, photos and the links other sites make to you do the rest.Do I have to write a title and description for every page?
No. Empty ones are made from the page when you publish. Write your own for the pages that matter most; the Search and AI check shows which ones need it.Can I keep a page out of Google?
Yes. Set the page to Only with the link, password or members only. It is then marked not to be indexed and left out of the sitemap. We are moving from an old website. Will old links break?
Not if you list them under Redirects in the Site tab, one per line, such as /old-menu | /menu. Visitors and Google are sent to the new page.Related features
