Instagram feed and Google reviews on your site
Show your latest Instagram posts in a section that refreshes every hour, and your Google rating and reviews in one that refreshes daily. Once connected, nobody has to copy posts or reviews by hand.
PLANSFrom Growth
The problem it solves
- Your Instagram is busy, but the website gallery has not changed since it was made.
- You have a 4.7 rating on Google Maps and the website shows three quotes typed two years ago.
- Copying new posts and reviews to the site is a job nobody does.
- Instagram picture links copied into a page stop working after a while.
How it works
- Add an Instagram section to a page: grid, one row or mosaic, with 4, 6, 8 or 12 posts. Until you connect, it shows pictures you upload.
- A Website Manager opens the editor, Site tab, Instagram and Google reviews, pastes a long-lived Instagram access key and presses Connect.
- Every hour SmartMy fetches the latest posts, copies their pictures to your site's server and updates the section. Get posts now does it at once.
- For Google, type your business in the Site tab's Google reviews group: name and town, or the place ID.
- In a Testimonials section, turn on Show my Google reviews. The rating, the count and the latest reviews replace the typed quotes.
- Reviews are looked up every day, or at once with Check Google now.
Everything it does
Instagram
- For a business or creator account, through the Instagram API with Instagram login
- You make the long-lived access key in Meta for Developers and paste it once
- The key is renewed by SmartMy every seven days, before it runs out
- The latest 12 posts are fetched each hour; videos show their cover picture
- Pictures are copied to your site, so they keep working after Instagram's own links expire
- Each post links to Instagram; the status line says how many posts are shown or what went wrong
- Disconnect removes the key
Google reviews
- Your business on Google Maps: name and town (for example Morning Crumb, Main Street, Springfield) or the place ID
- Looked up once a day through SmartMy's service; you hold no Google key
- Rating, number of reviews, a link to them, and up to nine reviews with text, stars and author
- Shown in a Testimonials section with Show my Google reviews on; the typed quotes come back if it is turned off
- The status line names the place found with its rating and count, or says no place was found

Questions
Do we need a Google key?
No. Reviews are looked up through SmartMy's own service on your subscription. You only type your business name and town, or its place ID.Does the Instagram section work without connecting?
Yes, with pictures and links you add yourself. Connecting replaces them with your latest posts every hour. Will the Instagram key stop working?
SmartMy renews the long-lived key every seven days. If Instagram refuses it, the status line asks you to paste a new key.Can we pick which Google reviews show?
No. The latest reviews Google gives are shown as they are, up to nine. Turn the switch off to show your own typed quotes instead. Is this ready to use today?
It is built. Instagram needs your key and Google reviews need SmartMy's service turned on for you. We set both up and test them with you before go-live.Related features
