Blog with topics, feed and search

Write news, articles and release notes in the editor, with a live preview beside you. Posts show at /blog with a page for each topic, a feed, the site search and related posts. The details search engines read are made for you.
PLANSEvery plan

The problem it solves

  • News goes on Facebook because adding a post to the website needs the agency.
  • Old articles cannot be found because there are no topics and no search.
  • Posts look different from the rest of the site because the blog is a separate tool.
  • Search engines show posts with the wrong title and no picture.

How it works

  1. In the editor's Blog tab, type the title of a new post and press Write. The post opens on the right with a live preview in the middle.
  2. Add a cover picture, a short text, the writer's name, and the content as blocks: headings, paragraphs, lists, pictures, quotes, buttons, video and more.
  3. Set the date, the tags (commas between) and the address. Fill the title and description for Google, or leave them to be made from the post.
  4. Set Status to Published. The post goes live with the next Publish changes, which a Website Manager does.
  5. Readers find it at /blog, on its topic pages, in the site search, in the feed, and under More to read on related posts.

Everything it does

A post

  • Title, cover picture, short text (made from the post when empty), written by
  • Content made of the same blocks as Columns and blocks: title, text, picture, button, list with ticks, quote, notice, video, share buttons and more
  • Date: today to start with; a post dated in the future is left out until that day
  • Tags, separated by commas; each tag gets its own topic page
  • Address under /blog/, made from the title
  • Title in Google and Description in Google
  • Status: Draft or Published; Delete post removes it for good
  • Saves by itself while you type

What readers get

  • /blog lists posts, 12 to a page, newest first
  • /blog/tag/<topic> for each topic
  • Each post shows the writer, date and minutes to read, share buttons and up to three More to read posts sharing a topic
  • /blog/feed.xml: an RSS feed of the latest 30 posts
  • Posts appear in the site search and in News and blog sections set to the latest posts

Search engines and AI assistants

  • Each post carries structured details as a blog post, with breadcrumbs
  • Posts are added to the sitemap with their dates
  • Posts are listed in llms.txt and copied in full into llms-full.txt for AI assistants
  • Cover picture used when the post is shared

Blog settings

  • Site tab > Blog: name of the blog (for example News or Journal), a line under the name, hide the blog from the menu
  • The blog joins the menu by itself once a post is published
  • Back office: Websites > Blog Posts lists every post of every site with date, site, tags, writer and status

Who uses it

Website EditorWrites, tags and publishes posts in the editor.
Website ManagerPublishes the site so new posts go live.

Questions

Can I schedule a post for next week?

Give it next week's date and set it to Published. It is left out until that date and goes live with the first publish on or after it. To be sure of the time, a manager can set Publish later for that day.

Can readers comment?

No. Comments are not built. Readers can share a post from its share buttons, and you can add a form or newsletter box to the blog page.

Does the blog look like the rest of my site?

Yes. It uses the site's colours, fonts, header and footer, and light or dark setting.

Can I write posts in other languages?

The site's languages cover its pages. Each post is written in one language; write a separate post for another.

Is the blog in the Starter plan?

Yes. The blog, topics, feed and search are on every plan.
