Found by AI assistants: llms.txt and plain-text pages
Your site gives AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity a clean text guide to your business, pages and products. You choose whether they may read it, and your visitor stats show who came from them.

Why it matters
More people now ask an AI assistant which clinic, cafe or coaching class to try, instead of searching. Assistants answer from what they can read, and a page full of menus, sliders and scripts is hard for them to read correctly. SmartMy Website writes a plain text guide to your site and a text copy of every page when you publish. They carry your address, hours, questions and prices. You decide in one setting whether AI assistants may read the site, and the visitor stats show the visits that came from them.
The problem it solves
- Someone asks an AI assistant for a good bakery nearby, and it names others because it could not read your site.
- An assistant quotes old hours or a price you changed months ago.
- You do not want AI companies to read your site, and do not know how to stop them.
- You cannot tell whether anyone reaches you through an AI assistant at all.
How it works
- Publish your site. SmartMy Website writes /llms.txt: your business in one line, key facts and every public page with a short description. It also adds the questions and answers from your pages.
- Each public page also gets a plain text copy at its address ending in .md. /llms-full.txt holds every page and recent blog post in one file.
- With the shop (Growth), the guide lists your products with prices, marks the sold-out ones and links to the full product list.
- Choose in the Site tab under Search engines and AI whether AI assistants may read the site. Saying No tells 12 known AI crawlers in robots.txt to keep out.
- Open Visitors in the editor. Where visitors came from lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini when they sent you people.
Everything it does
/llms.txt: the guide
- The site name and a one-line description from your home page
- Key facts: address, phone, email and opening hours, from your Contact or Map section or the footer
- Pages: every public page with a link to its text copy and its description
- Questions people ask: up to 30 questions and answers from your Questions sections
- Articles: up to 30 blog posts with a short excerpt
- Collections: up to 50 items of each, such as your team, jobs or properties
- Products (Growth): up to 100, with prices and "sold out" where so
- A link to /llms-full.txt, with everything on one page
Text copies
- One per public page, at the page address ending .md (the home page is /index.md)
- Headings, text, lists, questions and answers, address, phone, email and hours, in reading order
- Pop-ups, logos, the header and the footer are left out
- /llms-full.txt: every public page and up to 50 blog posts
Who may read
- AI assistants may read the site: Yes (to start with) or No
- No adds a keep-out rule in robots.txt for GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, Claude-User, anthropic-ai, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, CCBot, Applebot-Extended, meta-externalagent and Bytespider
- Search engines such as Google and Bing are not affected by this choice
- Pages set to link only, password or members only are never in the guide or the text copies
What helps assistants most
- The Search and AI check asks for a Questions section, the address and phone, the kind of business and 150 words or more
- Structured details (schema.org) on every page, read by search engines and assistants alike
