Social posts and a calendar for Facebook and Instagram
Plan Facebook and Instagram posts on a calendar, schedule them, add a first comment, and have posts approved before they go out. Each account's result and link is kept on the post.
PLANSEvery plan
Connects once Meta approves SmartMy's Meta app (App Review); tested with you before go-live. Built and tried on our test systems, not yet with a customer's Meta account.
The problem it solves
- Posts are planned in a spreadsheet and published by hand on each page, late or not at all.
- A post goes live with a wrong price because nobody checked it first.
- You cannot see next week's posts across three pages in one place.
How it works
- Open Marketing > Social > Posts. The calendar shows the week or month, each post on its day with its time, networks and status. Switch to List or Kanban from the top right.
- Press New, or + on a day (10:00 to start with). Give the post a title for yourself, the accounts, Post or Reel (Video), and Publish At.
- On the Post tab, write the text, add a link (Facebook shows a preview), pictures or a video, and a First Comment.
- If someone must check it, tick Needs Approval and press Send for Approval. It waits in the Social post approval chain; approved, it is scheduled.
- Press Publish. A future time makes it Scheduled; due posts go out every 5 minutes. Drag a post to another day on the calendar to move it.
- The Results tab shows each account's link, or the problem with Try Again.
Everything it does
What can be posted
- Facebook pages: text with a link, one or several photos, or a video
- Instagram: one picture, a carousel of up to 10, or a reel; Instagram needs a picture or a video
- A reel needs exactly one video; it waits until Meta has prepared it ("Try Again in a few minutes")
- First Comment: posted under the post
- Stories, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Business Profile and X are not built
Calendar and board
- Week and Month views with Today; status tabs All, Draft, Waiting for Approval, Scheduled, Published, Problem, Rejected, with counts
- Drag a post to another day: same time on the new day; a published post cannot move
- Coming up and Recently published on the side; List and Kanban views
- On a phone browser the posts are listed by week
Approval
- Needs Approval: ticked per post (off to start with)
- Send for Approval puts it in Waiting for Approval, in the Entity's chain "Social post"
- Approved: Scheduled, and published at its time or at once; rejected: Rejected with the reason
- Managers also have Approve on the post; rejection is done in Approvals
- For agency clients, the client's people approve on their portal
Publishing
- Publish, Publish Now, Back to Draft, Try Again
- Pictures are handed to Meta through a signed address that works only for files on that post
- Each account's result: Waiting, Published (with the link and time) or Problem (with the reason)
- Growth: Make Pictures with AI on a draft post
Who uses it

Where you use it
- Web: Marketing > Social > Posts (calendar, list and kanban)
- Web: Approvals, for approvers
- Client portal: agency clients see and approve posts at /my/marketing
- The SmartMy Marketing app: posts by status, write one with photos, publish or send for approval (in testing, not in the app stores yet)
What you control

- Needs Approval: off per post
- Publish At: empty (when you press Publish); + on a day starts at 10:00
