Peer review of assignments
Each piece of work is given to other learners who handed in the same assignment. They mark it, with the rubric when there is one, and write a comment. The teacher sees the peers' average or lets it decide the marks.
PLANSScale only
The problem it solves
- A trainer with 200 learners cannot give every essay detailed comments.
- Learners never see how others solved the same task.
- Work marked only by the teacher teaches learners nothing about judging quality.
How it works
- On an assignment lesson, tab Assignment, switch on Peer Review: Reviewers per Work (2), Days to Review (3), Anonymous (on), Peers Decide the Marks (off).
- When a learner hands in, their work goes to classmates who handed in and have the fewest reviews to do. They also get earlier work that still lacks reviewers.
- Reviewers see the work and its files under the lesson. They give marks or rubric points, write a comment and press Send the Review.
- The work's author sees What your classmates said, named or as A classmate.
- The peers' average shows on the submission. With Peers Decide the Marks, the work is marked with it once every review is in; otherwise the teacher marks with the average beside.

Questions
What if a reviewer never reviews?
The review stays To Do. With Peers Decide the Marks the work is not marked by peers until every review is in, so the teacher marks it. Late reviews are not skipped or reminded by themselves yet.Does the first learner to hand in get reviewers?
Yes, as others hand in. Each new learner gets earlier work that still lacks reviewers. Can the rubric be used by peers?
Yes. When the assignment has a rubric, reviewers give points per criterion and the marks are worked out from them.Related features
