Lessons released by date, days after joining or after other lessons
Open each lesson on a date, some days after the learner joined, after chosen lessons, or strictly in order. Locked lessons show the learner exactly when and why they open.

The problem it solves
- Learners rush to the final quiz without watching the lessons before it.
- A 30-day programme hands out all its content on day one, and most people stop after the first week.
- A batch must not see next week's lessons before the class has covered them.
How it works
- On a lesson, under Access, set Opens On for a fixed date, or Opens Days After Joining for a drip, such as 7.
- On the tab Opens After, choose lessons that must be done first, such as the safety video before the safety quiz.
- On the course, tab Rules, choose Training if every needed lesson should wait for the one before it.
- Learners see a lock and the reason on each closed lesson, such as Opens on 12 Nov or Opens after: Lesson 3.
- When the date comes or the lessons are done, the lesson opens by itself; no one has to release it.

- Opens On: closed before a date
- Opens Days After Joining: counted from each learner's own joining date (0: no wait)
- Opens After: chosen lessons of the same course must be done first
- Training mode: each lesson waits for the needed lesson before it; lessons not needed to finish never hold others
- Checked in that order; the first reason found is the one shown
Free previews
- A Free Preview lesson opens for anyone who can see the course, before joining
- Once a learner joins, the preview follows the same release rules as other lessons
What the learner sees
- Each lesson: done (a tick), open, or locked with the reason
- Continue opens the next open lesson, or the last one followed
- The same states and reasons show in the SmartMy Learn app
- A locked lesson's page and its progress are refused by the server, not just hidden
Copies and renewals
- Copy Course and New Version keep Opens After, linked to the new lessons
- A renewal after a certificate expires restarts the joining date, so drip lessons wait again

Can every learner get week 2 on the same day?
Yes. Use Opens On with that date. Use Opens Days After Joining instead when people join at different times and should each get their own pace.Can a quiz wait until the videos are watched?
Yes. On the quiz, under Opens After, choose the video lessons. A video counts as watched at 90 % to start with.What if I do not want any order?
Set the course to Library. Learners then open any lesson, and only the dates and Opens After you set still apply.Are learners told when a lesson opens?
