Project feed and key events
One feed per project where updates, the daily work log, payments and stage changes land, each marked with who may see it. Key events such as the design presentation, site marking, installation and handover carry their own readiness checks. They also carry invitations the client answers from a link, reminders and follow-ups.
PLANSEvery plan
Why it matters
Installation day goes wrong for small reasons. The lift was not booked with the society, the flooring was not finished, or the client was not home. Nobody does the 30-day check visit afterwards. Studio tools keep a calendar entry and a separate to-do list. In SmartMy Interiors the key event carries its own checks, each with a role and a due date counted back from the day. The client confirms from a link, and the follow-ups are made when the event is done. The site marking event also holds the Pre-production stage until its follow-ups are ticked.
The problem it solves
- The client hears about progress only when they phone the designer.
- Site photos sit in a supervisor's WhatsApp, and the client sees a different set from the office.
- Installation day starts and the lift was never booked, or the flooring is not finished.
- Nobody remembers the 30-day check visit after handover.
How it works
- Every project has a Project Feed tab; Interiors > Projects > Projects > Projects > Project Feed shows all your projects.
- Much of it posts by itself: the daily work log, stages started, payments due and received, the client's 3D choices and key events.
- To post by hand, press Post Update: a title, text, photos and files, who it is for, and Needs "Seen" where each person must confirm.
- The client and other outside people are told on email and WhatsApp with a link to their own page of the feed, with no login. Clients with the Client app see the same under Updates.
- For a key event, pick its type and day. Its checks, bookings and invitees come from the type. Propose the Date, then Fix the Date: everyone invited gets the invitation with a link to reply.
- Each morning people are told their checks and follow-ups due. On the day press Start, post live updates with photos, then Done: the report goes on the feed and the follow-ups are made.
Everything it does
The feed
- Each item: title, date, kind, text, photos and files, who posted it
- Kinds: Stage, Key Event, Payment, Approval, Report, Photos, Issue, Change, Design, Message, Other
- Audiences: Our Team (to start with), Management, Client, Subcontractors and Suppliers, Lender / Bank
- Needs "Seen": who confirmed and when, under Seen By; one reminder a day later to those who have not
- Our Team and Management are not messaged; they read the feed on the project
What posts by itself
- A submitted work log, as "Work today" with its lines and photos (for the client when Client Sees It is on)
- A project entering a stage, for the audiences the stage names
- A payment falling due, and a payment received with a thank-you
- The client's choices from the 3D page, and the studio's decision on them
- A task marked Client Can See, when done
- Key events: the date proposed, fixed, moved or cancelled, live updates and the report
The page for people outside
- One signed link per person and project, made the first time they are told
- Shows the project, its stage now and the last 60 items meant for that person, with a Seen button where asked
- Feed Links tab (managers): each link, what it shows, when last opened; switch it off to stop it
Key event types
- Design Presentation (2 h): design and 3D views, materials and samples, quote ready; meeting notes follow
- Site Marking (3 h): approved drawings printed, civil and electrical points done; changes re-approved by the client after
- Modular Delivery and Installation Start (8 h): site clear, flooring and first coat done, lift booked, society permission. Also truck, installer team, factory dispatch; labels scanned and QC point 1 after
- Countertop Fixing (4 h, client not invited): base units levelled, cut-outs marked; stone fixer booked
- Handover and House-warming (2 h): snags closed, deep cleaning done, care guides ready; a welcome kit; a 30-day check visit
- Each type: usual length, what to expect, Invite the Client, roles to invite, Remind Hours Before (24)
An event
- Checks with a role, a due date counted back from the day, Photo Needed and Signed Off
- Bookings with who books them, who pays and days before
- Statuses: Draft, Date Proposed, Date Fixed, On Now, Done, Cancelled
- Replies: Coming, Maybe or Not Coming, how many come along, a map and a calendar file
- Reminders 24 hours before and on the morning; a new date or a cancellation tells everyone again
- Interiors > Projects > Site > Planning > Key Events (calendar) and Event Follow-ups
Ties to stages and payments
- The Pre-production check waits for Site Marking to be done and its follow-ups ticked
- A stage can carry the check "Its key events are done"
- A payment milestone can fall due When a Key Event Is Done

Questions
Does the client need a login to see the feed?
No. Each message carries a signed link to their own page. Clients with a login also see the same items in the Client app.Can the client reply on the feed?
Not yet. They can open photos and files and tap Seen. Decisions on designs, drawings and change orders go through their decision pages. Will the client see every site photo?
Only items meant for the Client audience. A work log goes to the client only when Client Sees It is on, and that can be switched off.Can we add our own event types?
Yes. Add a type such as Appliance Demo or Wallpaper Fixing with its own checks, bookings, invitees and follow-ups.Does it sync with Google Calendar?
Each invitee gets a calendar file to save. A two-way calendar sync is not built.Which plan has it?
Every plan, Starter included.Related features
PROJECTSProject stages held by roles, with checksEvery home moves from Site Measurement to Handed Over through stages, each held by a role such as the designer or the site supervisor. A project leaves a stage only when its check passes, for example the measurement sheet approved or every cut list made. The client reads in their app what each stage means.PROJECTSChange orders and the daily work logSay the client wants a loft added or a wardrobe dropped after the price is agreed. A change order goes to them as a link to approve. Agreed, the project value and the payments still to come follow. The site team keeps one work log a day with photos, and the client sees it on their feed.PROJECTSSnags, handover sign-off and client billingEvery snag is logged with a photo before and closed only with a photo after. The homeowner signs the handover off on a page with the items, warranties, care guides and keys. It goes only once snags are closed and cleaning and QC are done. The last client bill falls due as the job enters Closure.PROJECTSPayment plans that stop the job until paidGive each project a payment plan, such as the ready 10 / 50 / 35 / 5. Milestones fall due when a stage starts: the client is asked for 50 % as production begins. The job does not move on until that money is in. Payments Due shows what every client owes.APPSThe SmartMy Interiors appsThree phone apps on the same data as the web.
