Key events: slab casting, handover
Bhoomi pooja, foundation pour, slab casting, topping out and handover run as key events. Each has readiness checks counted back from the day, bookings for ready-mix and pump, and invitations the client answers from a link. Curing and cube results follow by themselves.
PLANSFrom Growth
Why it matters
A slab pour goes wrong for small reasons: reinforcement not signed off, the pump late, no lights for a night pour. Afterwards curing stops on day four and the 28-day cube result is never chased. Construction software keeps checklists, but the pour itself is a line in the schedule. In SmartMy Construction the pour is an event with its own checks, each with a role and a due date. Its bookings become a purchase order or a work order, the client answers an invitation, and curing, cube results and de-shuttering follow by themselves.
The problem it solves
- The pour is fixed for Saturday, but the reinforcement was never signed off by the consultant.
- The ready-mix is booked by phone, and nobody knows the order number or the cost until the bill comes.
- The client's family hears about the slab casting after it is over.
- Curing is skipped after the first few days, and the 28-day cube result is never chased.
How it works
- Five event types come ready, each with its checks, bookings, invitations and follow-ups. An administrator can change them or add more.
- On a project, add a key event of a type, such as Slab Casting for Tower B, 3rd floor, with its place, date and time. Its readiness checks are made, each with a due date and the person in that role.
- Bookings come from the type: concreting contract, ready-mix (grade, m³, slump, trucks, time slot), pump, vibrators and labour. Name the supplier and press Make Purchase Order, or name the contractor and press Make Work Order.
- Press Propose the Date, then Fix the Date. Everyone invited gets an email and a WhatsApp message with what to expect and a link. On the link they answer Coming, Maybe or Not Coming, say how many come along, see the map and save the date.
- Each morning every person is told the checks and follow-ups due that day. A check that needs a photo cannot be ticked without one, and a signed-off check only by that role or a manager.
- On the day press Start and add live updates with photos, such as third truck in, 18 m³ poured.
- Press Done. The event report goes on the project feed. The follow-ups are made: a curing photo daily for 7 days, cube results at 7 and 28 days, de-shuttering at 14 days.

Questions
Do late checks stop the pour?
No. You can fix the date with checks late, and the event records which were late. The checks hold a stage, not the event: with stages, the stage waits until its events are done or cancelled.Does it show the weather forecast?
Not by itself. Types marked Rain Matters have a weather note you fill in on the event. A forecast feed is not built. Can the ready-mix booking become a purchase order?
Yes. Pick the product and the supplier on the booking and press Make Purchase Order. A draft order is made for the project, delivered to the site store for the event's time.Which plan has it?
Growth and Scale. The payment that falls due when an event is done comes with it.Related features
PROJECTS AND SET-UPStages you leave only when the checks passEvery job moves through your stages, from Planning and Approvals to the Defects Period. A stage lets go only when its checks pass, such as the key events done or the client's stage payment received. For example: 10 % on signing, 15 % at foundation, 10 % per slab and 5 % at handover. Each milestone falls due by hand, on a date or after a number of days. Each item says who it is meant for: your team, the client, subcontractors, the bank or buyers. People outside are told on WhatsApp or by email with a link to their own view, and confirm important items with Seen.MONEYWork orders and subcontractor billsA work order to each subcontractor with items, rates and terms, approved before work starts. Running bills come from certified measurements. They take off retention, advance, back-charges and TDS, and become the vendor bill.MONEYMaterial requests, orders, transfers and issuesSite staff ask for material from the site or the app, and a manager approves. The request becomes a purchase order to the site store or a transfer from another site. What arrives is issued to the work, a place or a subcontractor. Every order carries the project, cost code and place.PLANT, SCHEDULE, QUALITY, SAFETYLab tests, non-conformances and the quality gate on billingTrack every sample from the pour to the lab result: cubes at 7 and 28 days, steel, soil, brick and water. Each is due on its date and passed or failed against its limits. A failed test raises a non-conformance by itself; a closed one charged to a subcontractor comes off their next running bill. With the quality gate on, work is certified for billing only when its hold points have passed.
