Wishlist, back-in-stock and price-drop emails

Buyers save products with a heart, share the list and add it all to the cart later. They can also ask for one email when a sold-out product is back or when a price drops.
PLANSFrom Growth

The problem it solves

  • A buyer likes a product, closes the tab and never finds it again.
  • A popular size sells out and the buyers who wanted it go elsewhere.
  • You lower a price but the people who were waiting for it never hear.
  • You cannot see which products people want most until they are gone.

How it works

  1. Buyers tap the heart on a product card or page. The header shows the count and /wishlist lists them.
  2. Guests keep the list in their browser. Signed-in members keep it in their account, on every device; a guest list is merged when they sign in.
  3. On /wishlist they press Add all to cart or Share the list; the shared link shows the same products to anyone.
  4. On a sold-out option the page offers Tell me when it is back; on any product, Tell me if the price drops. The buyer gives an email.
  5. Every 30 minutes, and each time the shop is sent, SmartMy checks the alerts. When one comes true the buyer gets one email and the alert is marked Sent.
  6. Website > Shop > Customer Activity > Wishlists shows what is wished for most; Stock and Price Alerts shows who waits for what.

Everything it does

Wishlist

  • Heart on product cards and pages; count in the header
  • /wishlist with Add all to cart and Share the list
  • Guests: kept in the browser only; members: kept in their account
  • Saved for later from the cart
  • Website > Shop > Customer Activity > Wishlists: email, product and date, grouped by product or website

Alerts

  • Back in stock: on an option that cannot be bought now
  • Price drop: compares the product's price with tax to the price when the buyer asked
  • One email per alert; the alert is then marked Sent
  • A buyer can wait for up to 50 products at once
  • Ten alert requests from one address in ten minutes, then a pause
  • Website > Shop > Customer Activity > Stock and Price Alerts: filters Waiting, Back in stock, Price drop; states Waiting, Sent, Stopped

Questions

Does a guest lose the wishlist?

It stays in that browser. If the guest signs in as a member, the list is merged into the account and then shows on every device.

Will buyers get many emails?

No. Each alert sends one email when it comes true, and is then marked Sent.

Does a deal send price-drop emails?

Not yet. The price-drop check uses the product's sale price with tax. Lower the sale price itself to trigger it.

Can we see what people are waiting for?

Yes. Stock and Price Alerts lists every waiting alert by product, and Wishlists shows what members saved, grouped by product.
