Project feed for the team and the client
One timeline per project where updates, tasks done, payments, stage changes and key events land, each marked with who it is meant for. The client is told on WhatsApp or by email with a link to their own view, and confirms important items with Seen.
PLANSEvery plan
The problem it solves
- Project news is spread over email threads and WhatsApp groups, and nobody can find what was said to the client.
- Something meant for your team reaches the client by mistake.
- The client says they were never told the date was fixed or the payment was due.
- Clients call for an update because they cannot see progress without asking.
How it works
- Every project has a Project Feed tab, and Projects > Work > Projects > Project Feed shows the feeds of all your projects.
- Much of it posts by itself: client tasks done, payments due and received, stages started (Growth) and key events (Scale).
- To post by hand you add a line. It has a title, the kind, the text, photos and files, and Meant For (Our Team, Client, Subcontractors and others).
- Tick Needs "Seen" when each person must confirm, for example a date or a design.
- People of the chosen audiences are told by email, WhatsApp and in the app. The message carries a link to their own page of the project, with no login.
- Their page shows only what is meant for them, with a Seen button. Anyone who has not confirmed a day later gets one reminder.
Everything it does
Each item
- Title, date, kind, text, photos and files, who posted it
- Kinds: Stage, Key Event, Payment, Approval, Report, Photos, Issue, Change, Design, Message, Other
- Meant For: Our Team (to start with), Management, Client, Subcontractors and Suppliers, Lender / Bank, Buyers
- Needs "Seen": who confirmed and when, listed under Seen By
What posts by itself
- A task marked Client Can See moved to Done: "Done: task" for the team and the client, with no message sent
- Every Task Done on the Feed (off to start with): other tasks done are posted for the team
- A payment milestone falling due, and a payment received with "Thank you", for the team and the client
- A project entering a stage, with the stage's message, for the audiences the stage names (Growth)
- A key event's date proposed, fixed, moved or cancelled, its start, live updates with photos, and its report (Scale)
Who is told
- People in audiences that send notifications: the client, people in client roles, subcontractors, the lender and buyers
- Our Team and Management are not messaged; they read the feed in the app
- The person who posted is not told of their own item
- Items that are only records (task done, payment due) are posted without a message
The page for people outside
- One signed link per person and project, made the first time they are told
- Shows the project name, the stage it is at now (with stages) and the last 60 items meant for that person
- Photos in a grid, files to open, a Seen button where asked; light and dark
- Managers see each link on the Feed Links tab, with what it shows and when it was last opened, and can switch it off
Finding things
- Filters: Client Sees, Needs Seen, Today; group by project or kind
- Team members see the feeds of their own projects; managers see all
- Team members can post; only managers delete an item
Who uses it
Project managerPosts updates with photos, chooses who sees each one, and checks who has marked Seen.
Team memberReads the feed of their projects and posts progress.
Projects ManagerReads every feed and manages the clients' feed links.
ClientGets the news on WhatsApp or by email, opens their page, and taps Seen.
Subcontractor or lenderSees only the items meant for their audience.
Where you use it
- Web: the project's Project Feed and Feed Links tabs, and Projects > Work > Projects > Project Feed
- A signed page for each outside person, opened from the message, with no login
- Client portal: items meant for the client, under Updates
- Not in the phone app yet
What you control
Settings
- Meant For and Needs "Seen" on each item
- Every Task Done on the Feed: off
- Send Notifications per audience: on for Client, Subcontractors and Suppliers, Lender / Bank and Buyers; off for Our Team and Management
- Each role's audience, under Project Roles
- With stages: each stage's message and who is told (team and client, to start with)
Notifications
- Project Update: to people of the item's audiences that send notifications, by email, WhatsApp and in the app, with the link. Each person can switch off a channel such as email or WhatsApp
- Project Update Not Seen: once, a day after, to those who have not tapped Seen, by email and WhatsApp
- Sent at once, at any hour: these are work messages, so quiet hours do not hold them back
Questions
Does the client need a login to see the feed?
No. Each message carries a signed link to their own page of the project. Clients with a portal login also see the same items under Updates. Can the client reply on the feed?
Not yet. The client can open photos and files and tap Seen. Replies and comments from the client are not built. How do I stop a person seeing the feed?
Open the project's Feed Links tab and switch their link off. The link stops working at once. Ending their team line also stops new items reaching them.Is my team told of every post?
No. Messages go to people outside, such as the client. Your team reads the feed on the project and in Work > Projects > Project Feed.Which plan has it?
Every plan. Stage posts come with stages in Growth, and key event posts with key events in Scale.Related features
