The Learn dashboard

A ready-made dashboard for course authors and managers: learning now, overdue, join requests and finished, with charts by course, status and month. It is built, but not part of the plans today.
PLANSFrom Growth
Built in code, but it needs the dashboard engine, which no SmartMy Learn plan installs today.

The problem it solves

  • A training manager opens five reports every morning to see where things stand.
  • Overdue learners and waiting join requests are noticed only when someone complains.
  • Nobody can show at a glance how many people finished courses this month.

How it works

  1. The dashboard is made by itself when the dashboard engine is installed next to SmartMy Learn, as the first menu of Learn.
  2. Learn Authors and Learn Managers open it; each person's numbers count only the courses and entities they may see.
  3. Four tiles show Learning now, Overdue, Join requests and Finished.
  4. Charts show learners by course, enrolments by status and courses finished per month.
  5. Until it is offered, the same numbers are in Learn > Manage Courses > Reporting and the Enrolments filters.

Everything it does

Tiles

  • Learning now: enrolments learning
  • Overdue: learning and past their due date
  • Join requests: waiting for a decision
  • Finished: enrolments finished

Charts

  • Learners by course: a bar chart of learning and finished enrolments
  • Enrolments by status: a doughnut of Requested, Learning, Finished, Dropped and Refused
  • Courses finished: a line by month

Who sees what

  • Shared with Learn Authors and Learn Managers
  • Counted as the viewer: an author sees their own courses, a manager every course of their entities

Questions

Is the dashboard in our plan?

Not today. The dashboard is built but needs a dashboard engine that SmartMy Learn plans do not install. Talk to us if you need it.

Where do we see overdue learners meanwhile?

In Learn > Manage Courses > Learning > Learners > Enrolments with the Overdue filter, and in Reporting > Learners and Courses > Learner Progress.

Would a trainer see other trainers' courses?

No. The numbers are counted as the viewer: authors see their own courses, managers the whole entity.
