AI quiz and summary maker
On a quiz, Make Questions with AI drafts questions from your lessons' text for the teacher to check. On any lesson, Summarise with AI writes the short what-it-covers line.
PLANSScale only
The problem it solves
- Writing 30 good questions for every chapter takes a teacher an evening.
- Lessons go out with no summary because nobody had time to write one.
- AI tools outside your LMS need copying text back and forth, and nobody checks what comes back.
How it works
- Open a quiz lesson that uses a fixed list of questions (saved once) and press Make Questions with AI.
- Choose From Lessons; the course's articles, videos, documents and slides are picked to start with. Paste More Text or Notes if the lessons hold little text, and set How Many (10) and the Difficulty (Mixed).
- Choose the kinds: Single Choice and True or False are on to start with; Multiple Choice and Fill the Blank can be added.
- Press Make Questions. The questions go into the course's question bank, tagged AI made, and onto the quiz. Nothing is published by itself: check and change them first.
- On a lesson with at least 80 characters of text, tab Summary, press Summarise with AI. You get two or three plain sentences to edit.
Everything it does
Make Questions with AI
- How Many: 10 to start with, at most 30 at a time
- Kinds: Single Choice, Multiple Choice, True or False, Fill the Blank
- Difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard or Mixed (the default)
- Reads the course title, the chosen lessons' titles, summaries and article text, and your notes; it needs at least 200 characters
- Text inside uploaded PDFs and slides is not read; paste the key points into the notes
- Questions keep the language of the text, with an explanation and a difficulty
- Unusable answers are dropped; a question needs a right option, or a right answer for Fill the Blank
Summarise with AI
- On the lesson's Summary tab; writes up to 1,000 characters
- Uses the lesson's title, summary and article text
Who and when
- Only the course's author, its editors or a Learn Manager
- It runs only when your plan includes AI with credits left. The person also needs AI switched on by an administrator
- Each use counts against the plan's AI credits
Who uses it
Learn AuthorMakes questions and summaries for their courses and checks them.
AdministratorSwitches AI on for the teachers who may use it.
Where you use it
- Web: the quiz lesson (Learn > Manage Courses > Courses > Lessons), button Make Questions with AI; any lesson, tab Summary
- Not in the app: teachers use these buttons in the web back office
- Not for learners: learners never call the AI
What you control
Settings
- AI for each person: off until an administrator switches it on (the user's AI switch)
- How Many 10, Difficulty Mixed, Single Choice and True or False on: per use
Questions
Does the AI publish questions to students?
No. The questions are added to the quiz and the bank, tagged AI made. Learners see them only when the quiz is published, after the teacher has checked them. Can it read our PDF chapter?
Not the inside of a PDF or slides. It reads lesson titles, summaries and article text, and whatever you paste into More Text or Notes. What does a teacher need to use it?
To be the course's author or editor, or a Learn Manager, and to have AI switched on by an administrator. Your plan must include AI with credits left.Which languages?
The AI is told to keep the language of the text, so questions follow the language of your lessons.Related features
