The SmartMy Rental Driver app
Chauffeurs, operators and delivery drivers see their own duties and jobs on the phone. They start duties with a check, fill in the docket, get the customer's signature, and mark deliveries on the way and done. The app is built and in testing, not in the app stores yet.

The problem it solves
- Drivers call the office every morning to ask which car and which customer they have today.
- The duty slip is filled in from memory at the end of the week.
- Delivery drivers have no way to tell the customer they are on the way, so the customer phones the depot.
How it works
- Give the driver a login with the Rental Driver role. They see only their own duties and jobs and the checks on them, and no Rental menus on the web.
- The driver signs in with the same login as on the web, or with a passkey. The first time, the app asks for your server address.
- Duties shows today's duties with the vehicle and plate, the customer and their phone, the times and the instructions. Start Duty opens the pre-start check first where you have one.
- On duty, the driver fills in the docket (breaks, meter at start and end, standby, breakdown, tolls, parking, permits and entry taxes, Night away). Then the driver hands the phone to the customer for Customer Signs.
- Stop Duty opens the stop check where there is one; the duty is then done and its charges go to the order.
- Jobs lists deliveries and collections with the place, slot and items. Use Call, Map, On the Way and Waiting with the minutes waited. Then mark Delivered or Collected through the handover or return check with the customer.

Who sees what
- Rental Driver role: only their own duties, jobs and the checks on them
- Rent User in the same app: also other drivers' duties and jobs, with Only my duties and Only my jobs to narrow the list
- The app opens on Duties, or on Jobs where there are no duties. Its screens sit in the same Menu as the web (Bookings > With Driver > Duties, Bookings > Deliveries and Collections)
- Approvals shows what waits for the driver to approve; it is hidden when nothing waits

- Up to 200 duties planned or on duty in the list
- Start Duty, the docket, Customer Signs (name and signature on the screen), Stop Duty
- The meter is shown in km, miles or machine hours, as the vehicle counts its use
- Hours worked shows once the duty is done
Jobs (deliveries and collections)
- Call and Map from the job, On the Way, Waiting (minutes waited), Delivered or Collected
- Delivered and Collected run the handover or return check: points, photos of each angle, readings, damage and signatures

- The app needs signal: nothing is kept on the phone to send later
- Each step carries its own reference, so a step sent twice is done only once

Does every driver need a login?
