Sales sent to Meta's Conversions API

Every order counted in Revenue by Source is sent to your Meta dataset as a purchase, server to server. Meta can then see which ads lead to real sales.
PLANSFrom Growth
Connects once Meta approves SmartMy's Meta app (App Review); tested with you before go-live. Built and tried on our test systems, not yet with a customer's Meta account.

The problem it solves

  • Meta sees clicks and leads but not the sales that came days later on WhatsApp or at the counter.
  • Ad delivery learns from cheap clicks instead of buyers.
  • Browser pixels miss sales that never pass through your website.

How it works

  1. Set up Revenue by Source, so orders are counted.
  2. A Marketing Administrator opens the ad account, ticks Send Sales to Meta and types the Dataset / Pixel Id.
  3. From then on, every counted order with an amount and a customer is sent to Meta as a Purchase right after it is saved.
  4. Each event carries a scrambled email and phone, the amount, the currency and the order id. Meta matches it to people who saw your ads.
  5. If Meta refuses an event, a note on the ad account names the sale and the reason.

Everything it does

What is sent

  • Event Purchase, its time, source system_generated, and an event id from the order, so a repeat is not counted twice
  • SHA-256 hashes of the email and the phone digits; no names
  • Amount, the Entity's currency and the order number

Which orders

  • Orders credited in Revenue by Source: Sales orders, online store orders and paid chat carts
  • Only orders with an amount above 0 and a customer
  • Sent to every connected ad account of the same Entity that has Send Sales to Meta ticked and a dataset id

Who uses it

Marketing AdministratorTurns it on and enters the dataset id.
Marketing ManagerReads results in Meta and in Revenue by Source.

Where you use it

  • Web: Marketing > Ads > Leads and Accounts > Ad Accounts > the account (Send Sales to Meta, Dataset / Pixel Id)
  • Meta: Events Manager of your dataset
  • Not in the phone app: this is done on the web. The SmartMy Marketing app covers chats, contacts, posts, leads and campaigns

What you control

Settings

  • Send Sales to Meta: off until you tick it
  • Dataset / Pixel Id: empty until you type it

Notifications

  • None; refused events are noted on the ad account

Questions

Do I need a pixel on my website?

You need a Meta dataset (pixel) id. Sales are sent from SmartMy's server, so they arrive even when the sale never touched your website.

Is customer data shared?

Only scrambled (SHA-256) email and phone, with the amount, currency and order id. Names are not sent.

Will Meta then optimise my ads for purchases?

Meta gets the sales. Ads built in SmartMy's Ad Builder with the Sales objective are still optimised for link clicks; optimising for purchases is not built there.

Are counter sales sent?

Only orders that Revenue by Source counts: Sales orders, online store orders and paid chat carts.
