Schemes live in the dealer's basket

As a dealer types quantities on the portal's New Order page, the basket shows the free goods and discounts it gets. It also shows how much more of an item reaches the next slab or free lot.
PLANSFrom GrowthWith SmartMy Desk

The problem it solves

  • Dealers learn about a scheme from a circular they never read, and order 8 cases when 10 earned a higher slab.
  • The dealer sees the discount only on the invoice, and calls to ask why it differs.
  • Your salesman spends his visit explaining slabs instead of taking the order.

How it works

  1. Set up your schemes in Schemes and Claims > Schemes: free goods, quantity slabs or a value discount, by dealer group and area.
  2. The dealer opens New Order on the portal. An empty basket lists up to 5 schemes running for it, with their end dates.
  3. As the dealer types quantities, the basket is priced at its own price list. The scheme box under the items updates within a moment.
  4. The box shows what each item gets, the scheme discount, the free goods' worth and the total before tax.
  5. Under Get More it lists up to 6 next steps, cheapest first: 6 more (1,200) of Tea 250 g: 2 free.
  6. The dealer places the order. The same rule applies the schemes again, so the order matches the basket.
  7. On the Schemes page the dealer follows each scheme over its period: bought so far, slab reached, next slab, received.

Everything it does

What the basket shows

  • Schemes in this order: each item with badges such as 5% off or 2 free, with the scheme's name
  • Items, Scheme discount, Free goods worth and Before tax
  • Get More: up to 6 next steps (one more free lot, a higher slab), smallest value first; whole packs read as 1 Case (12)
  • A higher slab is offered only when it beats the discount the item already gets

The scheme rule

  • One rule prices the basket and the placed order
  • Free goods schemes add up; of slab and value discounts, the item gets the best one
  • On an order, a slab is reached by the item's own quantity on its line
  • A scheme fits by item or category, dealer group and area (those below included), entity and dates
  • A scheme whose budget is spent is no longer offered or given
  • Slab schemes over the period give nothing per order; they are settled at the end

The Schemes page

  • Every scheme running for the dealer: kind, dates, terms and up to 8 items or categories
  • Free goods: Buy 10, get 1 free, and how many more for the next free lot
  • Slabs: each as 100+ : 3%, the reached one highlighted, and the next slab
  • Bought in the period (quantity and value), a progress bar, and what was received

Elsewhere

  • Back office: Apply Schemes on a draft dealer order, and again on Confirm
  • Salesman app: schemes apply when the order is placed
  • WhatsApp ordering (Scale): the basket with schemes and the next step, by the same rule

Who uses it

DealerSees schemes apply as it types, tops up to the next slab, and follows its progress.
Distribution managerCreates the schemes, slabs, groups, areas, dates and budgets.
SalesmanPoints the dealer to the portal instead of explaining slabs by phone.

Where you use it

  • Dealer portal: New Order (the scheme box under the items) and the Schemes page
  • Web: Distribution > Schemes and Claims > Schemes, and Apply Schemes on a draft dealer order
  • WhatsApp: the dealer's basket with its schemes, with WhatsApp ordering (Scale)
  • Not in the salesman app as a live box: schemes are applied when the order is placed
  • Not in a dealer app: there is no dealer app; dealers use the portal on any phone browser

What you control

Settings

  • Scheme kind: Free Goods (Buy 10, Get Free 1 to start with), Quantity Slabs or Value Discount
  • From (today to start with) and To (empty: open); dealer groups and areas (empty: every dealer)
  • Slabs: From Quantity and Discount (%); Slab Reached: Per Order (to start with) or Over the Period
  • Budget (empty: no limit) and Warn At 80 %
  • Each dealer's price list, which prices the basket

Questions

Can the invoice differ from the basket?

No. The basket and the order use the same rule. The schemes are applied again when the order is placed, so a scheme that ended in between is left out.

Can two schemes apply to the same item?

Free goods schemes add up. Of slab and value discounts, the item gets the best one. A discount and a free lot can both apply.

Is a slab reached on the total of several orders?

On an order, each item's own quantity on its line reaches the slab. For a month's or quarter's total, set the scheme to Over the Period.

Does the dealer see schemes meant for other areas?

No. Only schemes whose groups, areas, entity and dates fit the dealer show, and only while their budget lasts.

Which plan has it?

Growth and Scale. Catalogue ordering and the credit warning are in every plan; schemes start in Growth.
