Scheme results: what each scheme sold

Each scheme shows what its items sold to the dealers it covers during the scheme, against the same number of days before. It also shows the extra sold and the cost of each extra unit.
PLANSScale only

The problem it solves

  • Scheme money is spent every quarter and nobody can say what it sold.
  • The sales head compares a scheme month with last year by hand, with different dealers in each figure.
  • A scheme that cost more than the margin it brought runs again next season.

How it works

  1. Open any scheme in Schemes and Claims > Schemes and go to its Results tab.
  2. During the Scheme shows what its items sold to the dealers it covers, from its start to its end or today.
  3. As Long Before shows the same for as many days just before the scheme started.
  4. Extra Sold is the difference in quantity. Cost per Extra Unit divides what the scheme has spent by the extra sold.
  5. Compare schemes side by side and drop the ones whose extra unit costs more than it earns.

Everything it does

What is counted

  • Confirmed dealer orders only, dated in the period
  • The scheme's items and categories (sub-categories included)
  • Only dealers the scheme covers: its dealer groups and areas (sub-areas included), and its entity
  • Free goods are left out
  • Value is after line discounts and before tax

Figures on the Results tab

  • During the Scheme: Sold During, Sales During, Extra Sold
  • As Long Before: Sold Before, Sales Before, Cost per Extra Unit
  • The scheme's cost is its Spent figure: free goods and discounts on confirmed orders plus settled claims
  • No extra sold: Cost per Extra Unit shows 0
  • A scheme that has not started shows zeros

Not counted

  • Returns after the order
  • Orders retailers place with their dealer, even for a retailer scheme
  • Seasons or other schemes running at the same time: the figure is a plain before and after

  • None: the before period is always as many days as the scheme has run, just before it started

Questions

Which period is the comparison?

As many days as the scheme has run, ending the day before it started. A 30-day scheme is compared with the 30 days before it.

Does it count sales to dealers outside the scheme?

No. Both periods count only the dealers the scheme covers, by its dealer groups and areas, so the two figures are like for like.

What does Cost per Extra Unit include?

Everything the scheme spent: free goods at their price, discounts on confirmed orders and settled claims, divided by the extra quantity sold.

Can I see all schemes' results in one list?

Not yet. The results are on each scheme's Results tab. A list or report across schemes is not built.

Which plan has it?

Scale. Schemes, budgets and claims start in Growth; results are added in Scale.
