Downloads: brochures, menus and price lists
Put brochures, menus, price lists, forms and catalogues on your site as files to download. Add a Downloads section, upload the files, and they go out with the published site; PDFs open in the browser and other files download.
PLANSEvery plan
The problem it solves
- Customers ask on WhatsApp for the price list every week, and someone sends an old one.
- The brochure is a 30 MB file emailed by hand to every enquiry.
- The menu on the website is last year's because replacing the file needs the agency.
- Parents print the admission form from a link that broke two years ago.
How it works
- In the editor press + Add section and choose Downloads. Pick a layout: a list, cards or buttons.
- For each file press Choose a file > Upload a file, then give it a title, a short text and an icon.
- Add as many files as you need to the section, and move them up or down to set the order.
- Publish. The files are sent to the website server with the published copy.
- To change a file, upload the new one in its place and publish again.
Everything it does
Files
- PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx), ZIP, EPUB, text and CSV
- Up to 25 MB a file
- Each file is checked to be what its name says before it is taken
- PDFs open in the browser; other files download with their own name
The section
- Layouts: list, cards or buttons
- Small line above, title and intro
- Each file: title, short text, the file and an icon
- Background, edges, animation and phone settings like any section
On the live site
- Only files used in the published copy can be downloaded; a file removed from the page stops being offered after the next publish
- Files are served from your site's own address, so links show your domain
- Files used only in a draft are not on the internet

Questions
Can I put an old .doc or .xls file?
No. Word, Excel and PowerPoint files must be the newer .docx, .xlsx and .pptx. Save the old file again in the newer format, or as a PDF.Can I keep a price list for dealers only?
You can put the section on a password or members-only page, which keeps the page out of search engines. The file link itself is not locked, so anyone who has the link can open it. Do not use Downloads for confidential papers. How do I replace last year's menu?
Open the Downloads section, choose the new file in place of the old one and publish. The old file stops being offered. Is Downloads in the Starter plan?
Yes. Downloads are on every plan.Related features
BUILDING THE SITEGalleries, portfolios and full-screen picturesShow your work, rooms, dishes or events in a gallery or portfolio section. Visitors click a picture to see it full screen, and move through the rest with arrows, keys or a swipe. Each picture comes in a size that fits the screen.BUILDING THE SITEPages, publishing later, versions and password pagesAdd pages and set who can open each one: everyone, only with the link, with a password, or members only. Publish now or at a set time. Every publish is kept as a numbered version you can bring back, and a secret test link shows your changes before they go live.BUILDING THE SITEForms with file uploads, steps and conditional questionsBuild contact, enquiry, admission or job forms with file uploads, several steps, and questions that show only after a certain answer. Every entry lands in Websites > Form Entries and the site's followers are told at once. With CRM, an entry can also become a sales lead.BUILDING THE SITEDrag-and-drop editor: type on the page itselfYou change your website on the page as visitors will see it. Click a heading and type, drag sections into order, and pick layouts from live pictures with your own words. Everything saves by itself, and nothing goes live until a manager publishes.SELLING AND MEMBERSMembers: sign-in by email code and members-only pagesVisitors sign in on your website with a 6-digit code sent to their email, with no password to remember. You keep pages for signed-in members only, or for the members of one membership.
