Repairs sent to SmartMy Garage job cards

With SmartMy Garage, a rental repair goes to your workshop as a job card with one button. When the garage delivers the car, the repair gets the job card's total in its history and a to-do to finish it. So the car comes back into service through its check.
PLANSFrom GrowthWith SmartMy Garage

The problem it solves

  • The yard writes the damage on a slip, and the workshop types it again into its own job card.
  • The car is ready in the workshop, but the rental desk keeps it out of service because nobody told them.
  • Nobody can match a workshop job to the rental repair it came from.

How it works

  1. A repair is opened for the car, by hand or from a failed check (Rental > Vehicles > Repairs).
  2. On the repair press Send to Garage. A repair job card opens in SmartMy Garage for the car's vehicle, with your Entity as the customer and the repair's notes as the complaint.
  3. The workshop works the job card as usual: estimate, parts, labour and delivery.
  4. When the garage delivers the car, the rental repair gets a note with the job card and its total. The repair's owner gets a to-do: Garage done: finish the repair.
  5. Finish the repair. The car comes back into service through its check.

Everything it does

What goes to the garage

  • Only cars that have a fleet vehicle; machines without one cannot be sent
  • One job card per repair; a repair already with the garage cannot be sent again
  • The job card shows its Rental Repairs, and the repair shows its Garage Job Card

What comes back

  • A note with the job card number and its total on the repair
  • A to-do for the repair's responsible person, or whoever delivered the job
  • The total is not copied into the car's costs: for Profit per Car, put the garage's cost on the car

Questions

Do we need SmartMy Garage?

Yes. Without it, repairs work inside SmartMy Rental with their parts and claims, and there is no Send to Garage button.

Does the job card cost reach the car's profit?

Not by itself. The total is noted on the repair. Put the cost on the car, for example as a bill line with Cost of Car, so Profit per Car counts it.

Can an outside garage use this?

No. The job card is made in your own SmartMy Garage. For an outside garage, record its bill against the car.
