Broadcasts on WhatsApp and email, at a set speed, with follow-ups

Send one approved WhatsApp template or one email to a whole audience, now or at a set time. The speed keeps within your number's limit and your mail server's rate. Afterwards, follow up only the people who did not read, click or reply.
PLANSEvery plan
Email broadcasts are built and tried on our test systems. WhatsApp broadcasts connect once Meta approves SmartMy's Meta app; tested with you before go-live.

The problem it solves

  • A festival offer goes to 8,000 numbers at once, Meta flags the number and half the messages fail.
  • The same customer is on three lists and gets the offer three times.
  • Numbers that never agreed to WhatsApp offers get them anyway.
  • There is no simple way to send a reminder only to those who did not open the first message.

How it works

  1. Open Marketing > Campaigns > Broadcasts > New, for example "Festive offer", and choose WhatsApp or Email.
  2. For WhatsApp, pick the number and an approved template. For email, write the subject and the email in the designer, with merge fields such as {{first_name}}.
  3. Build the audience from lead lists, tags, a contacts filter and chosen people (segments from Growth), and leave out people by tag. Each person, number or address gets it once.
  4. Set Send At (empty: when you press Send) and Messages a Minute (60 to start with), then press Send.
  5. People who may not get it stay on the list as Not Sent with the reason. The first batch goes at once and the rest every 5 minutes at your speed.
  6. When it is sent, read the numbers at the top and press Follow Up. Choose Did Not Read, Did Not Click or Did Not Reply for a new draft to only those people.

Everything it does

Audience

  • Lead Lists, Tags, a Contacts Filter and Chosen People, in any mix; Growth adds Segments, refreshed just before sending
  • Leave Out Tags removes people
  • Each person once; WhatsApp numbers are matched on the last ten digits, emails on the address
  • Everyone in it is a contact of the broadcast's Entity, or a shared one with no Entity; an agency client reaches only its own
  • At most 200,000 people a broadcast

Who is left out

  • WhatsApp: no mobile number, or no WhatsApp opt-in given to the broadcast's Entity
  • Email: no email address, a blocked address, unsubscribed from email, or on Do Not Contact
  • Each is kept as Not Sent with the reason, so you see how many and why

Sending

  • Send At, or at once; Messages a Minute: 60; the sender runs every 5 minutes
  • Email From: Name <address>; empty, the Entity's email under its Marketing Sender Name
  • Email: tracked links, an unsubscribe line at the end and the one-click unsubscribe header
  • Broadcasts do not follow sending hours: they go at Send At
  • States: Draft, Scheduled, Sending, Sent, Cancelled; Back to Draft before it starts; Stop while sending

Results

  • On the broadcast: People, Sent, Read (WhatsApp), Clicked (email), Replied, Not Sent; each opens the people behind it
  • Per person: Waiting, Sent, Delivered, Read, Failed or Not Sent, with the reason, clicked, replied and the version
  • Replied counts a WhatsApp answer after the broadcast; replies to an email broadcast go to the sender's mailbox and are not counted
  • Campaigns > Broadcast Results: everyone of every broadcast, grouped by broadcast, status, version or reason

Follow-ups

  • Follow Up: Did Not Read (WhatsApp), Did Not Click (email), Did Not Reply (WhatsApp)
  • Each makes a new draft "(follow-up)" with only those people as Chosen People; change the text and send
  • Scale: A/B versions of a broadcast, tested on a share before the winner goes to the rest

  • Send At: empty (send when you press Send)
