Workshop
Floor TV board for the workshop
Put the workshop on a TV, by stage or by bay. Each car shows its plate, model, technician and promised time, with late cars in red and holds marked. The screen opens by a private link with no login and refreshes by itself.
PlansFrom Growth
The problem it solves
- Technicians walk to the office to ask what is next and which car is promised first.
- Late cars are noticed only when the customer is at the desk.
- A TV showing the back office would show customers' names, mobiles and bills to anyone in the workshop.
How it works
- 01
Open Garage > Configuration > Workshop > Floor Screens and click New. Name it, for example "Workshop TV".
- 02
Choose the layout, By Stage or By Bay, the refresh time, and whether the customer's first name and today's arrivals are shown.
- 03
Click Open Screen, or copy the Screen Link and open it in the TV's browser. No login is needed.
- 04
The screen shows each car with its plate, model, technician, bay and promised time. Late cars are red; urgent, holds, parts waits, cars out and reworks are marked.
- 05
To stop a link, click New Link: TVs on the old link stop, and you give them the new one.
Everything it does
What a card shows
- Plate, brand and model, technician, bay, stage, promised time (time today, day and time otherwise)
- Overdue in red: promised time passed and not ready
- Urgent, waiting for approval, waiting for parts, on hold with what it waits for, vehicle out, rework, tasks done
- The customer's first name only if you tick it; nothing else about the customer, ever
The screen
- By Stage: a column per stage of the shop; By Bay: a column per bay and one for No Bay
- Count of cars and of overdue cars, and the clock, in the branch's time zone
- Today's arrivals from the appointments, if ticked
- Refresh every 30 seconds to start with (10 at least)
Access
- By the screen's private link, or signed in as garage staff of that branch
- Only workshop managers see and renew the link
- An archived screen stops working
- The link has no end date: renew it with New Link when a TV is replaced
Who uses it
Where you use it
- Any TV or screen with a browser, by the private link
- Web: Garage > Configuration > Workshop > Floor Screens
- Not interactive: the screen is read-only; work is done on the job cards
What you control
Settings
- Layout: By Stage to start with, or By Bay
- Refresh Every: 30 seconds
- Show Customer's First Name: off
- Show Today's Arrivals
- As many screens per branch as you need
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Does the TV need a login?
No. Open the screen's private link in the TV's browser. Anyone with the link sees the board, so renew it with New Link if it leaks.
What customer data is shown?
None, unless you tick the first name. Plates, models, technicians and promised times are shown; names, mobiles and amounts never are.
Can we have one screen for the paint shop and one for the main floor?
Yes. Make two screens, for example one By Bay and one By Stage. Each has its own link.
Which plan has it?
Growth, Scale and Enterprise.

Job card board by stage, with list and calendarEvery plan
See every car in the shop on one board, a column per stage. Each card shows the plate, the customer, the promised time and labels for approval, alerts, holds, vehicles out and reworks. Switch to a list, a calendar, a pivot or a chart.
Appointments on a bay calendar with daily capacityFrom Growth
Book visits by customer, vehicle, services, time and bay. The booking warns when the bay is taken, the branch is closed or the day is full. The customer is reminded, the arrival opens the job card, and no-shows are counted.
On hold by who it waits on, the customer's own parts and waiting timeEvery plan
Put a job card on hold with why and who it waits on: the customer, a supplier, the insurer or your own side. Holds for the customer's own parts, special orders and insurance claims start and end by themselves. The Waiting Time report shows where the days go.
Vehicle out and back: test drives, outside work, pickup and dropEvery plan
Every time a customer's car leaves your premises, it goes out with a reading and photos and comes back with another. That covers test drives, outside work, pickups and drops. You see who took it, how far it went and how much fuel it used, and you are told when something is off.
Tasks per mechanic with Start, Pause and Done timersEvery plan
Each approved service becomes a task for a technician, planned from its standard hours. Technicians press Start, Pause and Done on the web or their phone, one timer at a time. You see each person's tasks, the workload and the hours worked against the hours planned.
