The salesman app, also offline
The SmartMy Distribution app for Android and iPhone runs the salesman's day: the beat, visits, orders, collections, forms and new retailers. On Scale it keeps working without signal and sends what was done, in order, when the phone is back online.

The problem it solves
- Signal drops in the market lanes and godowns, and the order the salesman typed is lost.
- Salesmen write orders on paper in weak areas and type them again in the evening.
- A retry on a slow line places the same order twice.
- Managers approve credit holds only when they are back at a desk.
How it works
- The salesman signs in to the app with his SmartMy login. It opens on Today: his day, the beat and what waits to be sent.
- From a party he checks in, takes an order at the dealer's price or records a collection. He can also fill a form, note a competitor price or add a retailer.
- On Scale, the app keeps what it last read: today's beat, parties, items and targets, so he can work without signal.
- Orders, visits, collections, forms, competitor prices and new retailers made without signal wait in an outbox. Today shows how many are to send.
- When the signal is back the outbox is sent in order. Each carries its own reference, so a resend never makes a second order.
- Anything the server refuses, such as a retailer already on your list, is shown to the salesman once.

Working offline (Scale)
- Kept on the phone: the last answers of the reading screens
- Queued: orders, visits, collections, visit forms, competitor prices, new retailers
- Not queued: day start and end, credit check decisions, travel claims, van bills; these need signal
- Sent in order; a network failure stops and keeps the rest for later
- Each write has its own reference; the server answers a repeat with the first result for 30 days
Sign-in and safety
- Sign in with the SmartMy login, or a passkey
- Each person sees only what his role allows; a salesman sees his own visits and collections
- Location is recorded only between Start day and End day, after consent

Questions
Is the app in the Play Store and App Store?
Not yet. It is built for Android and iPhone and is being tested. We will set it up with you before go-live.What happens if the same order is sent twice?
Each order carries its own reference. When it reaches the server again, the first result is returned and no second order is made.Can the salesman start his day without signal?
No. Start day and End day need signal, because they can also be the attendance punch. Orders, visits, collections and forms work offline.Are schemes and credit checks applied to an offline order?
Yes, when the order reaches the server. If the credit check holds it, the area manager decides it as usual.Do dealers get the app?
